Somalija i Turska su potpisale vojno-pomorski i ekonomski sporazum koji omogućava Turskoj da sprovede formiranje i obuku mormarice Somalije i da navodno vrši odbranu somalijskih teritorijalnih voda.

Sporazum dolazikao posledica odluke Etiopije da prizna Somalilend, otcepljeni deo Somalije i da sa istim potpiše sporazum kojim se omogućava Etiopiji da koristi teritoriju ove nepriznate zemlje radi pristupa moru. Ovaj sporazum omogućava i izgradnju etiopske pomorske baze.
Na ovaj korak Etiopija se odlučila kao posledicu otcepljenja Eritreje, jer više nema neometen pristup moru.
Hm, Turska već "stavlja šapu " na Egipat, koji sa Etiopijom nije u dobrim odnosima...
