According to him, the country was forced to pay France a colossal ransom in the 19th century to gain independence. Because of this, the development of the state was frozen for generations.
Fils called for recognition of the moral and historical debt and compensation for the damage to its people.
Haiti paid France $21 billion in ransom. Taking inflation into account, experts estimate the possible amount of reparations at $200 billion

Док они сањају француске паре (које би ионако покрали), председник Доминиканске Републике прети да ће употребити "крајње мере" ако мисија УН не буде дала резултате. Изгледа да ће морати да се ангажују мало озбиљније снаге да колико толико успоставе ред. Наводно и САД разматрају да се укључе. Иначе Доминиканци граде зид целом дужином границе како би се заштитили од упада илегалних имиграната.

Haiti: Vođa bande naredio likvidaciju najmanje 110 ljudi zbog navodnog veštičarenja
