^^^Kazu F-4 i F-16

So Barak-8 ER was revealed for the first time during the military parade in June.

imp-navigator.livejournal.com/743330.html

150 km max range, reported BMD capability against tactical ballistic missiles. Local designation is "Qalxan" (Shield), while Barak LR are called "İldırım" (Lightning).

Somehow related, in 2016 Aliyev stated in that the value of arms contracts between Azerbaijan and Israel stood at almost $5 billion.

This is why I always advice against using wikipedia as a source:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azerbaijani_Air_and_....._equipment

First of all what is even "units"? In Azerbaijan air defence systems are composed of divisions.

4 divisions of Buk-MB (not M1) were purchased (3 batteries in 1 division). We know this by the amount of 80K6M radars (each for one division) purchased .

2 units of Pechora-2TM?

"В декабре 2008 года с белорусской компанией «Тетраэдр» был заключен первый контракт на модернизацию 27 комплексов С-125М в вариант «Печора-2ТМ»."

bastion-karpenko.ru/pechora-tm/

1500 Igla-S missiles were purchased (300 launchers).

And of course no mention of Barak systems.

Other inaccuracies: 11 Su-25, 17 Mi-35, 65 Mi-17.

The number of (active) Su-25s are 39. They are being modernized by a Turkish firm (not specified which).

How can there be 17 Mi-35s when 24 Mi-35M were purchased? And what happened to around 30 Mi-24s?

As for Mi-17, the number is around 100 units. Some of Mi-17s are armed with LAHAT and Spike-NLOS, those have the Mi-17-4 designation.

Also the infographic posted by Djox in previous page, I will not go into every detail but the very first thing, 65 thousand soldiers?

In Azerbaijan there are 5 Army Corps, one Army Corps has around 30 thousand soldiers. Do the math for yourself. 1 Army Corps are located in Nakhchivan exclave.

Well, not all corps are with same structure and therese different in peace and in war time...
And...not all corps in all armies of world are related to the same figure...

I was obviously talking about Azerbaijan, and I meant the number of active soldiers.

One exercise in 2016 involved 60 thousand soldiers (and that is excluding Nakhchivan exclave). Based on this alone you can see how the 66 thousand doesn’t make sense.

Another thing you will not find on wikipedia: More than half of armed forces serves on contract basis. Every equipment in Ground Forces are manned by professional soldiers. Tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems etc. All professionals.

Also non-militart duties like cooking, cleaning are done by hred civilian workers. Soldiers only do their military duties.

This is a big reform of the new defence minister since he was appointed in 2013.

Hence I always have to laugh when so-called experts in Armenian, Russian or Western media talk about how Armenian army are supposedly better trained. This is of course easily explained by the fact that they are not up-to date with regards to developments in Azerbaijani Army.

80% of military infrastructure are renewed. New bases, military units, barracks built, old ones are renovated. The work will be completed in 2-3 years.

It’s not only the purchase of weaponry.
