LNA's resources are limited & their concentration of effort towards Tripoli came at the expanse of their southern operations, exposing their rear. This is exactly why their launch of Operation "Flood of Dignity" before consolidating control in the south came as such a surprise
The GNA capitalizing on this is a significant victory and continued advances from the south risk cutting off the LNA's already overstretched supply line, forcing them to either rely purely on already very limited airlift capabilities for resupply for Tripoli theatre
Or to divert assets again, either drawing down on the already stalled Tripoli offensive, or risk opening the door to other regions, namely the central region, where other key strategic facilities are located, namely the main oil fields and oil terminals
If they are able to capitalize on this, this outflanking would be a significant strategic victory for the GNA, putting the LNA's recent achievements and footing at great risk

Није ми јасно одакле су се појавили ГНА-овци, где им је упориште и ко их подржава. Пре неког времена су правили хаос у овој ал-Фукахи, источно од Таманхинта. Не знам само колико је битна та база. Аеродроми постоје и у Себхи и у Браку.

BENGHAZI – Spokesman of the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), General Brigadier Ahmed al-Mesmari, said that the leader of the group responsible for the Tamanhint attack, a man named Hassan Mousa received 50 million dinars from the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) to mobilize foreign mercenaries to fight in Tripoli and conduct terror attacks against LNA.

U.S., Russia say cannot support a U.N. call for Libya truce: diplomats
Citat:The United States and Russia both said on Thursday they could not support a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Libya at this time, diplomats said, as mortar bombs crashed down on a suburb of the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
Russia objects to the British-drafted resolution blaming eastern Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar for the latest flare-up in violence when his Libyan National Army (LNA) advanced to the outskirts of Tripoli earlier this month, diplomats said.
The United States gave no reason for its position on the draft resolution, which would also call on countries with influence over the warring parties to ensure compliance and for unconditional humanitarian aid access in Libya, which has been gripped by anarchy since Muammar Gaddafi was toppled in 2011.
