Damascus, (SANA) – A statement issued by the General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces said that a military helicopter was lost Monday Sept 16th , 2013 as it was carrying out a reconnaissance sortie to inspect the infiltration of terrorists across the Turkish borders in al-Younesieh area near Bidama town in Lattakia countryside.
The statement said that inquiry showed that the helicopter mistakenly entered the Turkish airspace for a short distance and then it exited towards the Syrian territories after immediate orders; however, while exiting, the Turkish aircrafts attacked the helicopter and shot it down inside the Syrian territories.
The statement added that the hasty reaction of the Turkish side, particularly that the helicopter was heading back and it was not tasked with any fighting mission is evidence of the real intentions of Erdogan's government towards Syria which is seeking escalation at the borders of the two countries.

Syrian Truth l RT l Russian Mediterranean fleet to be expanded to 11 warships ships
The Russian naval presence in the Mediterranean Sea will be boosted by another military vessel till the end of September, according to the country’s Black Sea Fleet command.
The large landing ship, Yamal, is set to depart from the port of Sevastopol, Ukraine by the end of the month to join the 10 vessels Russia already has in Mediterranean waters.
“The Yamal’s crew has completed preparations for relocation to the Mediterranean Sea,” Captain Vyacheslav Trukhachev, the Black Sea Fleet information chief told ITAR-TASS news agency. “As part of the preparatory period, the ship has performed several drive outs, which included target practice on sea and land.”
The Yamal will represent the country at the annual ‘Russian Weeks’ forum in Greece, which this year will be hosted by the Ionian Islands.
The large landing ship – commanded by Captain Sergey Gritsay – is also expected to be called to the Greek port of Pylos and to visit Montenegro, Trukhachev added.
The Yamal vessel, which has been in service since 1988, is designed for landing operations and the transportation of military personnel and cargo. It’s able to carry up to 250 troops and 10 tanks.
Russia began military build-up in the Mediterranean in 2012, establishing a constant presence in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea since December last year.
On May 1, all of the country’s battleships operating in the area were assigned to a single task force under special offshore maritime zone operation command.
Currently there are ten Russian warships deployed in the Mediterranean: large landing ships 'Aleksandr Shabalin’, ‘Admiral Nevelskoy’, ‘Peresvet’, ‘Novocherkassk’, ‘Minsk’ and ‘Nikolay Fylchenkov’; large anti-submarine ship ‘Admiral Panteleyev’; escort vessel ‘Neustrashimy’; guard patrol ship ‘Smetlivy’ and guided-missile cruiser ‘Moskva’. The mounting pressure around Syria has seen naval forces both friendly and hostile to Damascus building up off the country’s coastline.
Besides the Russian warships, there are US aircraft carriers ‘Nimitz’ and ‘Harry S. Truman’; guided-missile cruiser ‘Gettysburg’ and ‘San Jacinto’ and a number of other American military vessels deployed in the area.
The French navy frigate ‘Chevalier Paul’, which specializes in anti-missile capabilities, is also in the Mediterranean Sea.

"Earlier today 09-16-2013, a Syrian Air Force helicopter was missing in a recon mission over the Syrian-Turkish border villages or Latakia countryside, and after rescanning our radars showed that the helicopter accidentally crossed the Turkish airspace for a short distance before given an order of withdrawing and guided back inside the Syrian airspace, during its withdrawal the Turkish air force shot down the helicopter to fall inside the Syrian territory.
The hasty reaction from the Turkish side, especially that the helicopter was unarmed, on a recon mission and on its way back to Syrian space, is an evidence of the real intentions of Erdoğan`s government toward Syria by escalating the situation on the borders and adding tension between the two countries and."

ANKARA — Turkey has acknowledged that Syrian “rebels” were seeking to acquire chemical weapons.
Prosecutors have determined that “rebels” linked to Al Qaida were ordering precursors required for chemical weapons.
The prosecutors have completed an indictment that charged a Syrian national with establishing a CW support network for the rebels who have been fighting the Syrian government.
“The suspects have pleaded not guilty saying that they had not been aware the materials they had tried to obtain could have been used to make sarin gas,” the indictment, filed in a court in the southern Turkish
province of Hatay, said.
This marked the first time that Turkey confirmed claims by Russia and Syria that Al Qaida-aligned militias were acquiring CW precursors for attacks against the Syrian Army and security forces. In early September, the
United States, which blamed such attacks on the Syrian government, issued an intelligence assessment that ruled out any CW effort by the opposition.
The Turkish indictment identified Haitham Qassap as head of the Syrian CW network. Prosecutors said the the 35-year-old Qassap formed links to supply CW precursors to the Al Qaida-aligned Nusra Front for the Protection of the Levant and the Al Ahrar Al Sham Brigades.
Prosecutors said Qassap, based in the Turkish city of Antakya, appeared to be seeking chemicals for the production of sarin. They said the Syrian, deemed the leading defendant, telephoned Turkish companies and requested at least eight chemicals. Two of the eight items required a permit by Turkish authorities.
So far, 11 people have been arrested in connection with the rebel CW network. Six of them — Qassap and five Turkish nationals — continued to be held in an investigation that began in late May 2013.
The indictment said Qassap confessed to being an agent for Ahrar. He was quoted as saying that he had been sent to Antakya by Ahrar leader Abu Walid and was contacted by Syrian militias for supplies.
“After I arrived in Antakya, other groups had come into contact with me,” the indictment quoted Qassap as saying. “While some had asked me for medicine and other humanitarian aid supplies, others wanted to obtain
military equipment.”
Officials said Turkey has been urged by Russia and Syria to stop the flow of CW precursors from Hatay. They said specific information on a suspected CW network was relayed to Ankara in the spring of
2013.
“Suspects have been consistently providing conflicting and incoherent facts on this matter,” the indictment said.

Russia’s UN representative says the newly unveiled report on the chemical attack of August 21 in Syria offers no “bulletproof data or conclusions” on who ordered it. The US and UK say the study confirms the regime was behind the attack.
“The report is diligent but very technical. It avoids categorical judgments and inferences, and it needs to be studied,” Vitaly Churkin told the Russian media at the UN headquarters in New York.
“As people examine it, everyone can draw their own conclusion, but I hope that won’t be driven by political motives.”
US President Barack Obama's national security adviser, Susan Rice, said in a statement the technical evidence of high-grade sarin revealed in the report "reinforces our assessment that these attacks were carried out by the Syrian regime, as only they had the capability to mount an attack in this manner."
Earlier, Washington envoy to the UN Samantha Power said the study proved that “only the regime” had the capacity to carry out the attack on a Damascus suburb that the US claims took more than 1,400 lives. UK Foreign Secretary William Hague also said the findings were “fully consistent” with the previous British stance that Bashar Assad’s forces were responsible for the attack.
Churkin said that suggestions the attack was a rebel provocation “cannot be shrugged off”.
The 38-page report was compiled by a UN expert team, which inspected Damascus at the end of last month, and collected over 30 samples from victims and the environment. Its authors state that it found “clear and convincing evidence that surface-to-surface rockets containing the nerve agent sarin” were released on “a relatively large scale” during the August attack. The report doesn't blame either of the sides.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has labeled the incident a “war crime”.
Churkin also told journalists “not to jump to conclusions” when questioned about whether Cyrillic alphabet markings, which were found on fragments of rockets reportedly used in the attack, proved that they were in possession of government forces. He said that UK and US assertions that rebels do not have the capacity to execute a large scale gas attack were “not grounded in reality”.
Last week, Russia and the United States put forward a proposal that would see Syria hand over its chemical weapons to international observers. Syria has also applied to join the Chemical Weapons Convention - an international treaty that regulates the destruction of such weapons - next month.

S obzirom da u slučaju Sirije Rusija ponovo stupa na scenu a Amerika oklijeva, naziru se nagovještaji da je svijet prevazišao američku nadmoć.
Šta nam diplomatija u vezi sa sirijskom krizom govori o državama koje su u nju uključene? Pretpostavljam da će historičari pažljivo analizirati događaje iz protekle tri sedmice kada budu proučavali početak 21. stoljeća.
Tokom decenija države doživljavaju uspone i padove, ali nekada jedan događaj poprimi simboličan značaj onda kada izgleda da upravo taj događaj otkriva suštinsku istinu o situaciji koja je polako nastajala.
Dobra sedmica za Rusiju
Prisjetimo se Suecke krize iz 1956. godine. Britanija i Francuska su mnogo godina bile pokorne SAD-u, no izgleda da je ponižavajući neuspjeh jedne katastrofalne imperijalne avanture signalizirao formalno propadanje starih evropskih sila.
Neki smatraju da oklijevanje predsjednika Baracka Obame da upotrijebi vojnu silu, kao i očigledan neuspjeh da pridobije podršku Kongresa i naroda, označavaju trenutak kada je SAD odstupio s mjesta globalne supersile. Ženevski sporazum je osigurao povezanost ovih dviju strana u pregovorima koji bi mogli potrajati mjesecima, pa čak i godinama. Odvažni Putin je čak napisao članak u New York Timesu, upozoravajući Amerikance da ipak i nisu baš tako posebni.
Ovo je na moskovskim ulicama imalo dobar prijem.
U jednoj vrlo nenaučnoj anketi mišljenja javnosti, otkrio sam da su ljudi većinom impresionirani načinom na koji se Putin uhvatio u koštac sa sirijskom krizom. "Ne volim Putina, ali je u ovom slučaju ispravno postupio", rekao je jedan uposlenik dobrotvorne organizacije.
Jedan advokat je rekao sljedeće: "Američka politika je apsurdna, zar ne vide šta džihadisti rade?"
Optimistična analiza
Veliki broj Rusa smatra da je Amerika dvadeset godina postupala nesmotreno i arogantno, a sada je napokon ponižena.
Šta će u konačnici biti sa Sirijom? Hemijsko oružje, užasno kakvo jeste, odnijelo je samo mali dio žrtava u građanskom ratu. Rusija će i dalje nastaviti pružati vojnu podršku Assadu. SAD će možda povećati isporuku oružja opoziciji.
Optimistična analiza Ženevskog sporazuma o Siriji možda se ogleda u tome da će učiniti da Amerikanci i Rusi nastave pregovarati i u tom procesu pomoći da se ponovo pokrenu utišani razgovori o sveobuhvatnijem mirovnom ugovoru. To bi bio dobar način da se pokaže da novi, multipolarni svijet može funkcionisati bolje od ovog koji, kako se čini, ostavljamo iza sebe.

Syrian Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi says Damascus has other means to inflict pain on its enemies, even without its chemical weapons.
“The fact that the government agreed to hand over its chemical weapons stockpile does not mean that we cannot reach a strategic balance in other ways,” al-Halqi said in an interview with Lebanese newspaper al-Ahd on Tuesday.
Al-Halqi added, "If you have means better suited for your purpose than chemical weapons, why is there a need for (chemical) weapons?"
According to the prime minister, Syria's decision to dismantle their chemical weapons arsenal, in agreement with the US-Russia brokered deal, in no way damages Syria's ability to hurt its enemies.
He noted Syria can neutralize any enemy threat with advanced aerial weapons systems and advanced missile systems.
When the Russian-US deal on Syria’s chemical weapons was announced Saturday, al-Halqi said the Syrian government accepted the proposal “to spare Syrian blood.”
Syria has strongly rejected the allegations that it used chemical weapons against Takfiri militants, saying the accusations were fabricated to distract the visiting team of the UN chemical weapons experts and blamed foreign terrorist for the heinous crime.

Damascus, (SANA)- President Bashar al-Assad on Monday issued the legislative decree No. /62/ stipulating for the application of the Law of Protection of the Copyright and the Related Rights.
According to the decree, the Minister of Culture issues the executive decisions and instructions connected to this Law in coordination with the Minister of Communications and Technology regarding adopting the Information technology (IT).
The law to be published in the official gazette and be enforced after six months of publishing it.

The US has been supposedly fighting the "War on Terror" for 13 years now, In just 2 and a half years the Syrian Arab Army under the Command of Bashar al-Assad has taken out more "terrorists" than the US has.
Commander in Chief President Bashar al-Assad is doing the people of the whole world more than their government did to them by leading the war on terror, and in return he is still flagged as the bad guy by most of the Western media and government officials.
The Syrian Arab Army, and the Syrian people are all behind our command, During the crisis mother have buried their sons and daughters, we have buried our brothers and our comrades, some of the soldiers haven`t seen their new born kids yet, and it did not slow us down nor made us any weaker, it only gave us a motive to protect our homeland even if it would be the last thing we will live to do, and we will not give up our country to those barbarian terrorists, nor to their masters.
We never lost a single soul, all the souls were sacrificed for the security and peace of the homeland, and that is a win never a loss.
May our fallen comrades, and our civilian brothers and sisters rest in peace, martyrs and heroes.

Provinces, (SANA)- The Armed Forces on Tuesday continued operations against the armed terrorist groups in many areas across the country, eliminating scores of terrorists, destroying their weaponry and foiling their infiltration attempts.
Army foils terrorists' infiltration attempts in Homs
The army units foiled attempts perpetrated by armed terrorist groups to infiltrate areas in Talkalakh in Homs coming from Lebanon.
An official source told SANA that the army and the border guards repelled terrorists' attempts to infiltrate the areas of al-Mat'houma, Idleen, Halat and Marasya in Talkalakh countryside, killing scores of the assailants and forcing the rest of them to flee back into the Lebanese lands.
The source added that several terrorist groups that tried to infiltrate the neighborhoods of Bab al-Siba'a and Bab al-Turkman in Homs city were eliminated and their weapons and ammunition were seized.
Army kills terrorists, dismantles IEDs, discover tunnels in Damascus Countryside
The army discovered a tunnel that was used by the terrorists in Shab'a town in Damascus Countryside.
SANA reporter said that a 500-m tunnel was discovered, adding that the terrorists were using the tunnel to hide and open fire on the cars moving on the Damascus Airport's highway.
The reporter said that an army unit discovered another 200 m long tunnel used by the terrorists to store weapons and munitions.
Another army unit dismantled a mine and 21 explosive devices weighing between 50-70 kg each planted by the terrorists in the area.
Earlier, the army gained full control over the town of Shab'a after a series of operations which targeted the last terrorists' gatherings in it.

Damascus, (SANA) – A statement issued by the General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces said that a military helicopter was lost Monday Sept 16th , 2013 as it was carrying out a reconnaissance sortie to inspect the infiltration of terrorists across the Turkish borders in al-Younesieh area near Bidama town in Idleb countryside.
The statement said that inquiry showed that the helicopter mistakenly entered the Turkish airspace for a short distance and then it exited towards the Syrian territories after immediate orders; however, while exiting, the Turkish aircrafts attacked the helicopter and shot it down inside the Syrian territories.
The statement added that the hasty reaction of the Turkish side, particularly that the helicopter was heading back and it was not tasked with any fighting mission is evidence of the real intentions of Erdogan's government towards Syria which is seeking escalation at the borders of the two countries.
