Army units inflict heavy losses upon terrorists in several areas

Units of the armed forces carried out operations against terrorists' dens and gatherings in several areas of Damascus Countryside, inflicting heavy losses upon them.
A source told SANA that the army units killed and injured terrorists affiliated to the so-called "Islamic Front" in the workers city of Adra and Adra al-Balad area.
The source added that other army units killed three terrorists in Joubar neighborhood and destroyed their weapons and ammunition.
Another army units clashed with armed terrorist groups in Harasta area, killing 3 of them, in addition to injuring others.
The source pointed out that the army units clashed with terrorists in Darayaa city, inflicting heavy losses upon them.
Meanwhile, the army units targeted a den affiliated to the so-called "Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham" and killed many of them in Madaya town in the countryside.

A military source told SANA that the army units killed all members of armed terrorist groups in Busra al-Sham in Daraa countryside, including the leader of the so-called "Soqur Horan Brigade", Mustafa Mahmoud al-Ghathian, Ayman Atef al-Muqbel, Nasir al-Balkhiand another terrorist nicknamed Abu Omar from Saudi Arabia.
The source added that another army unit killed and injured many terrorists in the area surrounding al-Aswad Mosque in Atman town in the countryside.

The army units targeted two lorries loaded with weapons and ammunition in the area of Maarat al-Arteeq in Aleppo countryside and killed and injured a number of terrorists in the process.

MONTRE - Međunarodna mirovna konferencija o Siriji završena je danas u švajcarskom gradu Montreu, gde su se po prvi put od početka sirijskog konflikta pre skoro tri godine sastali predstavnici sirijskog režima i opozicionih grupa, a učestvovali zvaničnici iz oko 40 zemalja i međunarodnih organizacija.
Generalni sekretar Ujedinjenih nacija Ban Ki Mun poručio je sirijskim sukobljenim stranima da je došlo vreme za pregovore kako bi se okončalo krvoproliće u toj zemlji.
"Naš cilj je bio da pošaljemo poruku obema sirijskim delegacijama i sirijskom narodu da svet želi hitno okončanje sukoba", rekao je Ban na završnoj konferenciji za novinare, a prenosi AFP.
"Što je dosta, dosta je. Vreme je za pregovore", rekao je Ban, istakavši da Sirijci moraju da se ujedine kako bi spasli svoju zemlju, zaštitili svoju decu i izveli sebe na miran put.
Izaslanik UN i Arapske lige za Siriju Lahdar Brahimi rekao je na istoj konferenciji za novinare da će se sutra sastati sa obema sirijskim stranama kako bi razgovarali o narednim koracima u pregovorima.
"Sutra ću se odvojeno sastati sa njima i videti kako na najbolji način možemo dalje", kazao je Brahimi i dodao da ima naznaka da su obe strane spremne da razgovaraju o razmeni zarobljenika, humanitarnoj pomoći i lokalnim prekidima vatre, preneo je Rojters.
Ruski ministar spoljnih poslova Sergej Lavrov izjavio je da je mirovna konferencija protekla kao što se i očekivalo i da su sirijske delegacije rekle da će u petak direktno pregovarati i da će početi sa merama izgradnje poverenja, navodi britanska agencija.
Lavrov, koji je rekao da je danas razgovarao sa sirijskim ministrom spoljnih poslova Validom al-Mualemom i sirijskim opozicionim liderom Ahmedom Džarnom, pozvao je opoziciju i njene strane podržavaoce da se ne fokusiraju isključivo na promenu vlasti u Damasku.
"Da bi se osiguralo da pregovori neće propasti, potrebno je uticati na obe delegacije", rekao je Lavrov i istakao da je "glavna stvar otpočeti taj proces".
On je naveo da će, kako se očekuje, pregovori dveju delegacija trajati oko nedelju dana, pre pauze i druge runde.
Lavrov je nagovestio napredak u pregovorima o mogućem primirju u severnom gradu Alepu i da su u toku slični razgovori o centralnom gradu Homsu, ali nije pružio više detalja.
"Relativno manje teška pitanja su mere izgradnje poverenja, humanitarna pomoć, razmena zarobljenika", rekao je on.
Predviđeno je da delegacije sirijskog režima i opozicije otpočnu pregovore u Ženevi u petak.
Cilj konferencije u Montreu, pod nazivom "Ženeva 2", bio je da se dogovori "mapa puta" za Siriju na bazi one koju su juna 2012. usvojile SAD, Rusija i druge velike sile.
Tim planom je predviđeno stvaranje prelazne vlade, a kasnije i organizovanje izbora.
Sirijski konflikt traje od marta 2011. godine, a u njemu je prema procenama UN poginulo više od 100.000 ljudi, a oko četiri miliona je izbeglo iz zemlje.
