Russia plans to keep Syrian base – Navy Chief
Russia is not planning to abandon its Mediterranean naval base in the Syrian port of Tartus, the commander in chief of the Russian Navy has announced.
“We need this base, it is functioning and it will keep on functioning further,” the RIA Novosti news agency quoted Vice Admiral Viktor Chirkov as saying. The admiral added that Russia needed the base to supply its navy ships on combat duty in the Mediterranean Sea, the Bay of Aden and in the Indian Ocean.
Russia has had the supply base in the Syrian port of Tartus since Soviet times. It is not a full-fledged military base, but there are about 50 servicemen permanently stationed at the port and a special vessel for ship repairs.
Earlier this month Russian news agencies were posting conflicting reports on the developments around the Tartus base. Some said that two amphibious ships and a tugboat were headed towards Syria, while others quoted navy officials denying that those events had transpired.
The latest Russian mission in the area involved an Iman tanker with an anti-terrorist team on board sailing through this past May.
Russia also planned a patrol of the Syrian coast by the Moscow missile-carrying cruiser in May, but those plans were ultimately canceled.
A Russian cargo vessel allegedly carrying weapons and military supplies pulled into Tartus on May 26. Russia refuted claims the ship had brought in weapons that could be used against the Syrian opposition, saying that it was only providing President Assad with defensive armaments.

Kaćuša ::Ukratko, vrlo je lako moguće da je to bila bespilotna letjelica, modificirani f-4..Što vi mislite o tome?
Pocetkom 90ih, kada je USAF povlacila veliki broj F4 iz naoruzanja, je USAF svoje F4 (a zasto ne i RF4?) modifikovala u bespilotne letjelice i nazvala ih QF4.
Navodno su ih koristili za kojekakva testiranja. Javno je bilo da je pilot upravljao pomocu daljinskog upravljaca. Sve ostalo je bilo manje javno. Dali su ih dalje razvijali u smislu da i naoruzanje (izvidjacku opremu) mogu koristiti - neznam.

Nema trenutno potvrde neko kaže da je oboren PA topovima, a postoje indicije da ga je oborio S-200, a ako tu dodamo i pretpostavku M. Lazanskog da je obore sistemom BUK-m1 nastaje totalna zabuna, a verovatno nećemo nikada ni saznati.
Gde si pronasao informacije Lazanskog? Moze li link teksta ili videa ako je dostupan na internetu?

To su DRONOVI i uglavnom se koriste za testiranje A-A raketa kao i za A-A gadjanja. Cisto sumnjam da bi u svrhu izvidjanja koristili F-4 dronove jer su to veliki aparati ,sa velikim radarskim odrazom ,ne previse okretni ,i iz tog razloga posebno ranjivi..

Naravno, ali tu se uopce ne radi o izviđanju. Ovo sto se događa je sve u cilju nalazenja povoda za sveobuhvatni napad na Siriju. Zar stvarno netko misli da je Turska poslala taj f4 da izvidi situaciju, spijunira, sto li već? Uz sve moguće satelite, neprekidnu američku špijunazu, kako vanjsku tako i unutrašnju, turci odjednom idu slati avion? Ja ne vidim smisla...

NAravno da se to neradi. Obavestajne sluzbe ,vojna na prvom mestu znaju u komad svaku raketu koju poseduju i koje sisteme imaju,odnosno trebale bi da znaju jer im je to posao.
Nisu Turci blesavi ko mi da zrtvuju pilote i avione tek tako.

Mislim da dolazimo do kulminacije ako idu po dosadašnjim planovima čim teroristi budu na korak od "smirivanja" eto intervencije...

Friend or foe?
The Turkish military jet's incursion into Syria may have been a botched NATO operation on counterfeiting Syrian military aircraft ID in order to fool the country’s air defense. The necessary codes could have been “borrowed” from the Syrian fighter that had been stolen by its defector pilot.
This theory, explaining why the Turkish reconnaissance plane entered Syrian airspace before being taken down, was voiced by Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, which cited unnamed sources in the Syrian security forces.
Syrians believe that the Friday incident has its roots in last week’s defection of a Syrian pilot who escaped in his MiG-21 fighter jet to Jordan. Damascus branded the defector a traitor, while Jordanian authorities gave him asylum.
The defection brings memories of a similar incident that took place in February 2011, when two Libyan pilots “delivered” their military aircraft to Malta. NATO’s bombing campaign, which ended with the fall of the Muammar Gaddafi’s government, started just a month after.
Military analysts note that, curiously, the Libyan air defense systems appeared to be helpless against NATO’s air strikes. The explanation may lie in the friend-or-foe systems that the two stolen aircraft had onboard, the newspaper suggests. This system is used by the military in combat to distinguish their own aircraft.
According to the newspaper, the Syrian military believe that NATO took a similar approach again, but failed to properly decipher the codes. This is evident by the fact that the defector pilot managed to send his family to Turkey before stealing the fighter jet, which means the act was probably not done out of a sudden emotional breakdown.
Turkey may have been given the task by NATO to test how well the job was performed, and the result was disastrous, the report explains.
This is only a theory and more trivial explanations cannot be ruled out – but the intrusion is more likely to have been part of a military operation rather than the mistake Turkey claims it to be, military experts say.
