Key Damascus suburb witnesses most intense clashes since 2013
DAMASCUS, SYRIA (7:30 P.M.) - The Damascene suburb of Qudsiyah witnessed its heaviest clashes since early 2013 on Tuesday after a group of militants from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front) attacked a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) checkpoint.
Finally, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to surround the 2 Islamist rebel groups at 2 buildings inside the Al-Khayateen area.
The Syrian Armed Forces demanded that these militants surrender themselves; however, they would ultimately refuse, which led to the death of over 20 Islamist rebels.

Ruska vojska je saopštila da je spremna da nastavi razgovore sa SAD o situaciji u Siriji, iako je američki državni sekretar Džon Keri ranije danas zapretio da će prekinuti sve kontakte sa Rusijom ako se ne obustavi rusko i sirijsko bombardovanje sirijskog grada Alepa koji je delimično pod kontrolom opozicije.

To je saopštio ruski vojni zvaničnik, general-potpukovnik Viktor Poznihir, dodajući da je ta inicijativa rezultat današnjeg telefonskog razgovora ruskog ministra spoljnih poslova Sergeja Lavrova i američkog državnog sekretara Džona Kerija, prenosi Rojters.

- Ruska ministarstva odbrane i spoljnih poslova su spremna, na osnovu instrukcija predsednika Ruske Federacije, za dalji nastavak zajedničkog rada sa našim američkim partnerima u vezi sa sirijskim problemom. Mi računamo na to da će naši američki partneri biti spremni da radimo zajedno - naveo je Poznihir, naglasivši da se situacija u Siriji znatno pogoršala.

On je kazao da su opozicione grupe iskoristile sedmodnevno primirje za obnovu naoružanja, pregrupisale su se i krenule u ofanzivu radi osvajanja novih teritorija.

Poznihir je dodao da je Rusija, takođe, saznala da teroristi pripremaju napade hemijskim oružjem na sirijsku vojsku i stambene zone istočnog Alepa.

Kako je rekao, dostavljanje humanitarne pomoći većini ugroženih područja se, međutim, i dalje odvija, preneo je Rojters.

Ruski ministar spoljnih poslova Sergej Lavrov danas je pozvao američkog državnog sekretara Džona Kerija da ostvari obećanja SAD da će odvojiti delove sirijske opozicije koji su orijentisani ka Vašingtonu od "terorističkih grupa", saopštilo je rusko Ministarstvo spoljnih poslova.

Lavrov je Keriju u telefonskom razgovoru kazao da su lokalni ratni komandanti iz Nusra fronta otvoreno govorili o stranoj podršci, uključujući isporuke američkog oružja, prenosi Rojters.

Nusra front nedavno je promenio naziv u Džabhat Fatah al Šam, podsetila je britanska agencija.

Dvojica zvaničnika razgovarala su i o mogućim načinima kako da utiču na situaciju u sirijskom gradu Alepu u skladu sa principima američko-ruskog plana o primirju, dodaje se u saopštenju ruskog ministarstva.

Džon Keri je ranije danas zapretio da će prekinuti sve kontakte s Rusijom u vezi sa Sirijom, ukoliko se ne obustavi rusko i sirijsko bombardovanje Alepa.

Stejt department je objavio da je Keri taj ultimatum izneo u telefonskom razgovoru sa ruskim kolegom Sergejom Lavrovom, preneo je AP.
