Citat:The SMV -1000 engine developed for the K9 self-propelled howitzer appears to have achieved successful results in durability tests conducted until last month.
The SMV-1000 will be applied to actual K-9s and be tested for field operation in Korea next year.
According to the news, the K-9 and K-10 produced in Egypt will be equipped with the SMV-1000 engine.
Tthe K9 was originally using the MTU MT 881 Ka-500 engine, which was produced under license by Korea's STX, but due to Germany's restrictions on the export of military supplies to some countries in the Middle East, this engine was newly developed on its own
