IAF contemplating replacing both An-32 and Avro with Indo-Russian MTA.
Citat:Successive failure in finding suitable replacement for ageing Hawker Siddeley HS 748 ” Avro ” aircraft has prompted IAF to reassess their priorities and aircrafts requirements.
IAF had brought 125 AN-32 aircrafts from Soviet Union and recently has upgraded 40 An-32s in Ukraine and the remaining 65 will be overhauled at the BRD-1 aviation plant of the IAF in Kanpur.
United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) of Russia and Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) will jointly work in developing Medium-lift military transport aircraft called Multi-role Transport Aircraft (MTA) which will replace AN-32 fleet operated by IAF in next decade.
Citat:IAF is planning to order 7 more C-130J and additional six to ten C-17s from United States which will further ease Transport issues, While India and Russia have still not reached on a final agreement on development of MTA aircrafts, IAF is hopeful that work share agreements will work out soon .

Ukraine Conflict Stalls Indian AF Upgrades
Citat: India will need to explore fresh options, including direct purchase, to shore up its air transport fleet as the Ukraine conflict has stymied the upgrade of its AN-32 aircraft, an Indian Air Force official said.
The last five of 40 AN-32 aircraft being upgraded in Ukraine have become "untraceable," the official said, and the local upgrade of the remaining 64 AN-32s has halted as Ukraine engineers departed and supplies of spares stopped.

Posto znamo da ce biti kanadski motori odnosno PW, moja je pretpostavka da idu na PW150 koji je uporediv sa AI20DM po snazi ali koliko nadjoh i oko 600 kg laksi (sto dodje 1.2 tone ukupno), sto se tice potrosnje mislim da ne vredi trositi reci koliko je PW150 stedljiviji.
Takodje ako pogledamo avion koji koristi PW150 (Q400) i vidimo kako je kod njega uradjen spoj stajnog trapa i motora videcemo da ce se verovatno ici na isto resenje koje je mnogo aerodinamicnije i sa manjim otporom nego postojece na An 32.
Iz ove dve stvari vidimo da ce se krilo morati iznova dizajnirati bar iznutra zbog olaksavanja i drugacijeg polozaja motora i stajnog trapa.
Pitanje povecanja tezine je po meni ono gde se mogu iskoristiti dva resenja>> ili ojacavanje postojece strukture ili prosirenje trupa (kao kod C295). Posto ce vec biti pomereno teziste aviona zbog novog motora, stajnog trapa i krila pretpostavljam da ce ici na kombinaciju oba principa jer njima je potrebno povecanje sa 7.5 na 9.2..5 tona.
Postojeci kargo prostor je 12.48 m dok je on recimo kod C295 12.7 m tako da verujem da ce se trup prosirivati bar za 1-1.5 metara.
Veci dolet ce dobiti stedljivijim motorom, boljom aerodinamikom (manjim otporom) i verovatno nesto povecanom kolicinom goriva (zbog duzeg trupa i novog krila)
U teoriji ovo bi trebao biti savrsen avion za ovu klasu sa svim prednostima An 32 (polozaj stajnog trapa, jak motor, pouzdana platforma) koje bi se zadrzale i dodavanjem novih kvaliteta (stedljiviji motor, nova elektronika, poboljsana aerodinamika) za veoma male pare koje Saudijcima nisu problem.
Sta ce praksa da pokaze tek cemo da vidimo ali zelim im svu srecu u ovome.
