Evo jucerasnjeg teksta o tome.Sta i kako svajcarci planiraju.

Zestoku kampanju vode u toj zemlji i EF i Rafal. Imaju oni neku svoju racunicu.Njihova stvar.

Kuwait Tests Rafale
Middle East Newsline , August 17
ABU DHABI [MENL] -- For the first time, Kuwait has conducted trials of an advanced French fighter-jet. The Kuwait Air Force and Defense Ministry oversaw flights of the Rafale F3 fighter in the sheikdom's air space in July 2010.
Officials said the multi-role combat aircraft flew for 15 hours in what they termed the start of an exhaustive examination of the Rafale's capabilities.
"The main goal is to see how Rafale operates in the difficult conditions of our region," an official said.
France and Kuwait have been negotiating for more than three years over Rafale. Both countries have asserted that a procurement decision of up to 20 Rafales would take place in 2010.
"I think Kuwait will buy Rafale," said Sami Al Faraj, president of the Kuwait Center for Strategic Studies.
The July flights included Kuwait pilots and were monitored by parliament. Officials said parliament had demanded that Rafale be demonstrated in Kuwait before any decision. Officials said the July tests included noontime flights of Rafale to
determine its performance in the searing Gulf heat of 50 degree Centigrade.
They said the Defense Ministry was satisfied with the Rafale's performance but plans an additional round of trials later in 2010.
"The assessment is that there will be another round of some 15 to 20 hours of flights," the official said. "Then, the Defense Ministry will prepare its final recommendation."
Citat:UAE president in Evian
Intelligence online, August 26
Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the emir of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, spent most of this summer at his residence in Evian, on the French side of Lake Geneva. On August 4 he received Mohammed al-Maktoum, the emir of Dubai. Some discreet French emissaries also made the trip to Sheikh Zayed Evian residence. The Emirates are currently negotiating several sizeable arms contracts with France, including the acquisition of 60 Rafale aircraft. The contract has been under negotiation for two years but no deal has been signed for the moment. France opened an inter-service French military base in Abu Dhabi last year.

UAE: GIGN included in the contract for the Rafale
The UAE negotiates very hard the acquisition agreement for sixty Rafales. Not only do they demand the very best in the aircraft at the lowest price possible, but they take the opportunity to obtain perks/extras. The GIGN, for example.
The UAE have indeed asked that the elite Gendarmes train UAE anti-terrorist groups and show them their most difficult techniques, as the release of hostages on board a plane. This is the most secret "know-how" the GIGN and there is no question of sharing it completely ... Discussions, bitter, continued until July, with exchanges of delegations between the two countries, the UAE showing they have a real threat against their country.
A compromise seems to have been found: in case of hostage situation aboard a plane in the Emirates, the GIGN will intervene directly, leaving it to the UAE to take care of the transport and logistics for the GIGN men ...

Citat: The Rafales radar Not good enough for the UAE?
And about the UAE demand to have a more powerful RBE2 radar, could it answer to some expectations for the Air force?
The Air Force is interested in having a RBE2 with an active antenna. It is now established with the powerful AESA antenna which will equip our tranche 4 Rafale. What the Emirians are calling for is much more complex. They want, in addition to the AESA, to have new functionalities on their Rafale, such as GMTT / GMTI (detection and tracking of moving ground target), interlacing between air/air and air/ground modes, etc.. Even if this is not for us an urgent need, the operational 'plus' obtained could nonetheless eventually interest us. However, the key Emirian demand is about the range of the RBE2. And, with the same antenna diameter, the only way to achieve the 10% range increase (compared with the Basic AESA F3 "roadmap") that wish to obtain the Emirians, is a big boost to the power of the radar.
But more power to the RBE2, could it be a risk to generate serious electromagnetic interference (EMI) with the SPECTRA receptors ?
There is indeed a very real EMI risk to treat. This is the case whenever we want to change aircraft emission systems. There are solutions, obviously, but this will require to reexamine SPECTRA. But the biggest problem we have identified is about electric generation, which could be insufficient. To increase the maximum range of a few nautical miles, we would have to deeply review the electrical generation system of the aircraft.
In short, to conceive what it could be a Rafale-9, that is to say a new aircraft moving away from the similarity you want with french Rafale. The Emirati experts participating in negotiations are well aware of the problem. But they are also used to have very high quality weapons systems. They want to avoid any regression with the Rafale, at least on the radar range, compared to the F-16 Block 60, the Rafale having also many other qualities. The Emirians don’t have AWACS and therefore want - it is a fundamental requirement - that the Rafale can see very far. Beyond the radar, they are showing fairly strong requirements into SPECTRA development with, for example, the expansion of some frequency bands, an increased sensitivity, adding functionalities; in short, they want we push up the current technologies. Of course, to improve the electronic warfare of our Rafale faster than originally planned could be an additional operational advantage for the Air force. However, our current approach is to consolidate the features implemented in SPECTRA, to make them more robust and make it easier for operators and programmers before wanting to go further into addition of new capabilities. The current SPECTRA is working well and even very good. In sum, what separates us, about Spectra, is a matter of timing and calendar […]. In a more general way, we share the same wishes about capabilities, but with very different maturities calendar sometimes. Budgetary constraints remain a dimensioning factor.
Im very sorry if this post annoys anyone. But after years of having spectra and the jamming and radar capabilities of the rafale touted as on the level of the F-22 and F-35 its nice to have some perspective.
