A sto zatrpavate temu smecem?

When asked how the F-35 Lightning II would stack up against potential aggression from Moscow, NATO air chiefs said they're confident the fifth-generation jet would devalue Russian forces.
It forces the Russians to take a look at what we are doing and to realize that if they had to embrace us they might be in a position where they had to jump into a boxing ring and fight an invisible Muhammad Ali."

Singapore Eyes F-35 for 2030 Timeframe
Citat: Singapore remains interested in the F-35 joint strike fighter, but does not expect to procure the fifth-generation jet until the 2030 timeframe, Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen said Sept. 30.
“The F-35s are considered form a timeframe of 2030 and beyond for our defense needs, and in that light we are not in a hurry and we are still evaluating,” Ng said here following a meeting of the ASEAN defense ministers. “It’s a good plane, but our needs aren’t so urgent at this point and time.”

Norway Wants 12 More F-35s, Plans Block Buy In 2019
Citat:The Norwegian government has requested authorization to buy 12 additional Lockheed Martin F-35s in its 2017 national budget, allowing the country to participate in the last two years of a proposed international block buy....
Under the budget proposal, rolled out Oct. 6, Norway wants to order six more F-35s in Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) lot 13 and another six in LRIP 14, Norwegian ministry of defense spokesman Endre Lunde told Aviation Week. If OK’d, this would bring Norway’s number of approved F-35s to 40.
The blueprint would allow Norway to participate in the second and third years of a proposed international block buy, beginning in 2019 and covering lots 13 and 14....
Overall, Norway has committed to buying up to 52 F-35 fighter jets over the next decade. The country is currently using its first four F-35As for pilot training at Luke AFB, Arizona, and is slated to receive six additional jets next year. Three of those aircraft will make the trans-Atlantic journey to Norway at the end of next year, touching down in their home country for the first time.
The additional aircraft proposed for lots 13 and 14 would be delivered in 2021 and 2022.

Is The F-35 Being Kept Alive Just to Fleece The Foreign Buyers? (excerpt)
[Link mogu videti samo ulogovani korisnici]
Citat:“I don’t think it’s plausible that we’ll actually buy that full amount in the long run, but they don’t need to change their plans right now, they don’t need to scare the foreign partners by signaling that right now, it wouldn’t make sense to do it now,” he says. “You don’t have to make that decision on the total quantity, you don’t even have to make the decision on the full-rate production, until four or five years from now. So you can wait four or five years, more of the foreign partners will get deeply invested in the program, and then they can scare them.”
