^^Kazu da jos nema odluke oko kupovine
No Decision On JF-17 Fighter Jets
Citat:The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) claims that no decision has been made regarding the purchase of aircraft for the SLAF yet, despite reports that Pakistan is expected to be pushing hard for a follow-up agreement with Sri Lanka on the purchase of its JF-17 multirole fighter aircraft for the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Speaking to The Sunday Leader regarding this issue, the Air Force spokesman Group Captain Chandima Alwis said that the evaluation process is still on-going and no decision has been made regarding a decision.
“We are not interested in particular models of aircraft but we are looking at multi role aircraft that would be best suited for our purpose,” he said.

Citat:India had warned Sri Lanka against dealing with Pakistan, urging it to procure its fighter jets instead, according to highly placed diplomatic sources.
Without naming anyone, they said two Indian high-ups had threatened a Sri Lankan official over the telephone to not sign the aircraft deal with Pakistan. Failing to do so, they warned, India would cancel the $400 million loan for Colombo port city project.
However, the Sri Lanka government reportedly refused the offer saying Indian air force itself was not using the aircraft they were offering them to purchase.
Diplomatic sources further told Geo News that Sri Lanka would procure a naval fleet from India instead.

Jeremy Binnie, London - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly
05 January 2016
Nigeria's plans to acquire three CAC/PAC JF-17 Thunder multirole fighters in 2016, Nigeria's Punch newspaper reported on 6 January.
Citing a leaked copy of the budget, Punch reported that NGN5 billion (USD25 million) has been allocated for the acquisition of the three JF-17s, NGN2.06 billion for 10 PAC Super Mushshak basic trainers, and NGN11.6 for two Mi-35M helicopters.
Jointly developed by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC), the JF-17 is currently only in service with Pakistan. IHS Jane'sreported in December 2014 that Nigeria was finalising a JF-17 order, but a deal was not subsequently confirmed.

SLAF unaware of agreement to purchase jets from Pakistan
Citat:The Sri Lanka Air Force yesterday said it was unaware of an agreement signed with Pakistan to purchase eight JF-17 fighter jets, although Pakistan media had reported of such a move.
When contacted by the Daily Mirror, Air Force Group Captain Chandima Alwis said they were unaware of any such arrangement.
“From the side of the Sri Lanka Air Force, we have not decided as yet in this regard. And also I have not been informed of the matter. So, I don’t have any information on the matter,” he said.
He said the Air Force was reviewing a number of suitable aircraft to be purchased and that the Pakistani JF-17 fighter jet was one such fighter jet that was being looked at. - See more at: http://www.dailymirror.lk/102017/slaf-unaware-of-a.....Yg7kL.dpuf
