TOP GUN ::Spominju Ameri da su ga koristili i spominju C-130 U "Spuki" mada nista posebno ali sam nasao to oko izvlacenja pilota.

Koliko je istina neznam. Sumnjam u to da bi mogli da lete naprimer iznad oblasti gde u doticni oboreni i obezbedjuju izvlacenje. Mada ne znam, tu ulazimo u price da li su nasi znali/hteli ili nisu smeli da tuku po konjici koja je stizala u pomoc pilotima i slicno
Al da lete iznad Kosova i tuku po zemaljski ciljevima nisu smeli, a mislim da nebi ni da su krenuli kopneno dok god nase Neve i Kubovi rade....
Tek sad sam stigao do ove teme. Ne treba verovati sve što amerikanci kažu ili napišu. Njohova analiza učinka avijacije u toku dejstva na KiM, kaže da su uništili 486 tenkova, pa kad su videli da je preterano, skratili su to na 186. I tako je to figuriralo mesecima, dok nisu izbrojali da na KiM ima ukupno 13 olupina, od kojih je 6 uništila UČK. Mi smo bili prijavili 14 uništenih tenkova (T-55 - M-84), ali su nam oni septembra-oktobra vratili jedan ispravan koji je bio zatrpan pod halom firme "Boško Čakić" u Uroševcu. Razmena je izvršena na prelazu Merdare.
Da se vratim na te priče. Tačno da je bilo tih priča, pa čak i najava da će naleteti ovi avioni nad određenim prostorima-rejonima. Da smo preduzimali "adekvatne" mere, da ih dočekamo, odnosno da se jedinice pripremenom mera PVZ pripreme u cilju eliminisanja efekata dejstva. Očekivali smo ih u dva navrata po dve noći zaredom, a ni ti koji su očekivali njihovu pomoć, nisu imali nikakve aktivnosti. Tako, što se tiče Kosova i Metohije, siguran sam da se nije pojavljivao na nebu. Bio bi to cilj za "samo poželeti"

The sensor operator assists in the planning the tactical portion of a mission. While in flight he uses either the infrared detection set or the All Light Level Television system to locate, confirm, track and destroy targets. AC-130 ima neprocenjivu vrednost u podršci trupama na zemlji, naročito specijalnim jedinicama tokom njihovih operacija, kao i u raznim (anti)terorističkim operacijama Američke vojske. Najveća vrednost ovog aviona je što može u reonu dejstva da ostane 8 pa čak i celih 12 sati a najveća zaštita je što dejstvuje isključivo noću kada ga posade Praga, Igli i sličnih ne mogu uočiti, pratiti pa bogami ni pogoditi bez pomoći opto-elektronike. Inače ne verujem da mu je žilavost veća od običnog transportnog Herkulesa...

Zanimljiv je deo o profilu leta u napadu
"The typical AC-130A attack profile was flown at 5,000 feet above ground level (AGL) for armed reconnaissance and interdiction missions. If moderate or heavy AAA fire was encountered the aircraft would attack from 6,500 or 8,000 feet AGL (in most cases, the Gunship II would depart areas with heavy AAA without attacking). For close air support of Troops In Contact (TIC) the aircraft would fly as low as 3,500 feet AGL to improve gun accuracy. The standard attack speed was 145 knots. The aircraft attacked while in a 30 degree left bank and the guns were depressed 20 degrees (down). This combined with an approximate 10 degree ballistic arc caused the rounds to impact the target area at approximately 60 degrees (from horizontal). This high angle of incidence produced good results even when penetrating the jungle canopy."
Živo me zanima profil leta za avione naoružane sa haubicom 105mm...
Inače zanimljivo je da se kao glavi neuspeh Bitke za Mogadiš navodi odsustvo vatrene podrške od strane "Aveti" .
