“There’s a lot of potential in this idea,” Deptula said. “I’m not sugesting that we jump right into it and embrace it, but from the Japanese perspective when they are looking at and willing to invest in this kind of an alternative as opposed to trying to build an indigenous aircraft that’s not going to get close to what an F-22 can already deliver. It’s a smart move on their behalf.”

A Lockheed spokeswoman declined to comment about the project.

Uz sada već ozbiljno planiranje nabavke F-15X meni se ovo čini kao još jedan ekser u kovčeg F-35 ili možda planiraju da izmuzu Pentagon i za jedno i za drugo na krilima nove hladnoratovske histerije.
Samo treba imati u vidu da je veoma upitno da li američka ekonomija može to da prati.

Imajte u vidu da je studija za "restart" proizvodnje F-22 procenila troškove na 10 milijardi $.
Uvodjenje opreme sa F-35 bi ih verovatno koštalo još 5 do 10 milijardi $ (to nije tek tako nalepićemo DASS nego treba naći mesta za svu dodatnu opremu isprojektovati i testirati novi stelt dizajn zbog novih otvora itd.).
Tek posle toga se može pričati o ceni proizvedenog primerka.

Мени ово личи на фотошоп и то врло лош. Такође силуета више подсећа на Ф-35 него на Ф-22.

The approval follows an August 2017 demonstration, in which six F-22s flew a five-hour flight from Alaska to Hawaii supported by two KC-10s. During the flight, one cell of F-22s with one tanker flew at a higher airspeed, while another cell of Raptors acting as the control group and different tanker flew the standard flight profile. The test cell was able to cut 10 percent off the total flight time and 6 percent of fuel required, according to a release at the time.

Срећу се они и више него довољно. фотошоп или не.

The squadron also accomplished the first-ever F-22 Raptor combat surge, which maximized combat sorties over a 3-day period.

deterring у преводу летели смо близу наших снага на земљи и тако их бранили од напада непријатеља

enemy или ти непријатељ су овде Руси и САА.

Видимо да су се 'сретали' са Руским и Сиријским авионима чак 587 за 6 месеци. Што и није толико чудно када и једни и други лете истим небом.
