Boeing to Install High-Tech Radar on USAF F-15E Fighters
Citat:American aerospace firm Boeing is modifying dozens of F-15E fighter jets by integrating a cutting-edge radar and electronic warfare system.
Called the Eagle Passive Active Warning and Survivability System (EPAWSS), the tech will provide F-15 pilots with advanced capabilities to detect and counter ground and airborne threats.
The EPAWSS will also reportedly help improve the aircraft’s battlefield situational awareness.

US forces launched the jet after tracking dozens of Iranian short range ballistic missiles headed for Kurdish positions in northern Iraq Wednesday, according to two other US officials. The initial assessment is the launches originated inside Iran, the officials said.

“This was a significant incident,” one of the officials said.

“At approximately 2:10 PM local time, U.S. forces brought down an Iranian Mojer-6 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle headed in the direction of Erbil as it appeared as a threat to USCENTCOM forces in the area,” US Central Command, which oversees the US military presence in the Middle East, said in a statement.

Citat:Bloomberg reports that Boeing “is concerned about the ability of” Indonesia to finance the deal to buy F-15EX fighters.
Earlier in February, the U.S. government cleared the sale of up to 36 F-15EX fighters to the South East Asia nation. The deal is worth $14 billion, figures given by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency show.
Indonesia’s Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto had also said late last month during a visit to the United States that the country wants to pay for the F-15EX deal in installments.
