Tu-104LL kao platforma za ispitivanje radara Zaslon i raketa R-33 tokom 70-tih

In the course of the MiG-31 testing, there were flying laboratories (FL) widely used, which were derived from other aircraft - two Tu-104 FLs (1970 and 1972) to test the Zaslon radar, the MiG-21 FL (1970) to test the K-33 missile systems, the MiG-25P-10 FL (1973) to check the K-33 missile catapult start, the MiG-25PU (1975) to test the SAU-155MP automatic control system and the KN-25 navigation system, the MiG-25RB FL (product 99, 1976) to test and operationally develop the D-30F-6 engines. Stage B of the Joint official testing began in September 1979 and finished in September 1980 when for the first time the series aircraft were deployed with AD Forces line units. In accordance with a directive of the USSR Council of Ministers dated 6 May 1981, the MiG-31 interceptor boasting the RP-31 radar and R-33 missiles entered the inventory.

One of these labs was converted from an early MiG-25 (aircraft P-10) and was used in 1972 for autonomous test launches of the first K-33 from the upgraded APU-40 carriage. A MiG-21 (№76211524) was converted into the LL-21 flying lab to test the missile seekers, and Tu-104 №42324 was converted at into LL-104-518 (also known as LL-2) NTK "Vzlet" to test the "Zaslon" radar along with the homing heads mounted in missile mockups GVM-410.

Ono po cemu se razlikuje u odnosu na stariju varijantu kabine BM jeste polozaj MFD u prednjoj kabini kao i broj istih u zadnjoj koji je smanjen na 2. Mozda ova 2 preuzimaju funckije i radnje ona predhodna 3 ?

Jos jedna razlika je tu a to je da kod prvobitne varijante opremanja kabina BM imamo ILS/HUD sa MiG-29/ Su-27 dok je u ovu novu vracen onaj isti HUD koji imamo u prvim serijama te B/BS .
