Japan discloses further details of next-generation fighter aircraft
https://defence-blog.com/news/japan-discloses-furt.....craft.html
Citat:According to several media reports, the new Japanese AESA radar similar to US-made AN/APG-81, which is installed on Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighter jet.
Also showcased for the first time footage of test prototype of a low-bypass turbofan (in some sources called the XF9-1) equipped with afterburners, developed by IHI Corporation as part of a power plant program for an advanced F-3 fighter. The new engine is about 4.8 meters in length, about 1 meter in diameter and more than 15 tons of thrust with afterburner, and more than 11 tons of intermediate thrust without.
The developers said that the new fighter’s engine has basically met the performance requirements of the design.
Imaju novi radar. I novi motor, za koga kažu da izpunjava kriterije dizajna.

Lokid nudi deo koda od F-35
Lockheed Offers Japan Access To F-35 Code As Part Of Stealth Fighter Proposal: Report
Citat:The U.S. government is reportedly considering approving the disclosure of at least a portion of the computer code behind the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter’s avionics and mission systems to Japan to support the development of a new stealth fighter jet for that country. Given that this is Lockheed Martin’s proprietary data, this would strongly point to ongoing discussions between that company and Japanese authorities about the potential design that blends together features and design considerations leveraged from the F-35 and the F-22 Raptor.

Mitsubishi acquires CRJ line, production to end in 2H20
https://www.ch-aviation.com/portal/news/79322-mits.....nd-in-2h20
Citat:Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has announced it will acquire the CRJ Series of aircraft from Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for a cash consideration of USD550 million. Once concluded, the deal will mark the Canadian manufacturer's exit from the largescale commercial aircraft sector leaving only its business aviation unit - Bombardier Business Aircraft - intact.
The two firms said in a joint statement that MHI will acquire the CRJ Series' maintenance, support, refurbishment, marketing, and sales activities including its Montréal and Toronto services and support networks as well as its service centres located in Bridgeport, West Virginia, and Tucson Int'l, Arizona.

Donald Trump Puts Tokyo Under Pressure to Choose US Fighter Jet Over Rival BAE
https://www.defense-aerospace.com/article-view/rel.....ghter.html
Citat:Pentagon officials have stepped up talks with Japan amid concerns the US could lose out to BAE Systems, the UK defence contractor developing a sixth generation Tempest stealth fighter, according to three people familiar with discussions about the F-3 programme.
Tokyo wants to replace its F-2s when they retire from around 2035 and plans to start development next year, in a deal that would be worth tens of billions of dollars. It is considering three options: collaborating with BAE; working with Lockheed Martin, the US maker of the F-22 and F-35 jets; or developing a plane domestically.
Japanci u razmišljaju sa kime da idu dalje u projekat. Ameri se ljute jer Japanci dogovarja i sa Britancima.

https://www.airforcemag.com/magazine/
Citat:While other options exist to replace the F-2, none are as compelling as the approach that leverages the proven F-22 and F-35. Alternatively, Japan could continue procuring new-build, fourth-generation aircraft, such as a Eurofighter Typhoon or a modernized F-15 tailored to Japanese requirements. But without organic stealth designs and built-in, fifth-generation information systems, these aircraft would lack the attributes necessary for future Japanese pilots to survive in an A2/AD environment.
Citat:
But Japan’s security environment demands an aircraft with greater range to patrol the airspace over areas such as the Senkaku Islands, requiring increased internal fuel capacity that could be provided by fitting the F-22 with larger wings. While this would be a major modification, it would not be unprecedented. Lockheed Martin studied a fighter-bomber variant of the F-22 as far back as 2002—but it was never built. In that design, the large delta-like wing decreased the maximum G-force limits of the airframe, but the wing design reduced the need for aerial refueling while retaining the fuselage mold lines, thereby enhancing the aircraft’s stealth. That “FB-22” design concept, while originally conceived as a regional bomber for the U.S. Air Force, could now be adapted for Japan’s long-range air-dominance mission as the F-2 replacement aircraft.
Another benefit would be the opportunity to redesign the internal structure of the mid- and aft-fuselage to extend the side bays. This would allow the new aircraft to carry up to eight, rather than six, medium-range guided missiles internally. An F-2 replacement aircraft utilizing a modified F-22 fuselage, a larger delta wing, and F-35 skin and coatings would provide unprecedented survivability in the threat environment Japan faces. At the same time, the advanced, integrated sensors and fused processing from today’s F-35 would significantly surpass the F-22’s informational capabilities in sensors, avionics, data links, fusion processing, and presentation. Likewise, an advanced active electronically scanned array radar would offer passive and active modes, and more powerful and effective electronic attack and electronic protection capabilities than are available on any legacy aircraft, while the F-35’s infrared sensor and display system could help pilots with dynamic targeting and managing their signature presentation.

Exclusive: Japan Favors Home-Grown Design for Next-Generation Fighter After Rejecting Foreign Plans: Sources
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-japan-defence-f.....SKBN21E137
Citat:Japan wants to develop a stealth fighter domestically, rejecting designs from Lockheed Martin Corp and Boeing Co in the United States and Britain’s BAE Systems PLC, three sources with knowledge of the program told Reuters.

@Toni
Meni ova TVC izgleda mnogo slično onome što je prikazano na Su-57. Preslikana je sve do oblika "viljuške" za prenos pokreta sa obruča na lopatice.
