TAI's Hurkus trainer gains winglets

Citat:Turkish Aerospace Industries has begun work an a winglet design for its Hurkus single-engined trainer, and has installed the modification on both of its current test examples.

“We are looking for different designs to make Hurkus more perfect. Winglets is one of them," says Ozcan Ertem, head of the company's aircraft group. The addition of winglets enables a trainee pilot to recover more quickly from a spin, he adds.
Spin tests with the Hurkus will begin next month, with a parachute recovery system also being fitted to the aircraft.

Tecnam ‘P JET’ aircraft evaluation programme

Citat: Tecnam today announced that it is actively evaluating the potential of developing and producing a two-seater, single turbofan engine powered aircraft.

As always Tecnam’s innovative developments are driven by customer demand. Extensive interest has been shown for the introduction of a two seat (side by side), turbofan engine powered aircraft, to be used by military Flight Training Organisations, but also to offer a significantly faster and more efficient aircraft for both the private and business aviation sectors.

The ‘P JET’ will undoubtedly be a game-changer not only in the world of General Aviation but also as a first level entry military training jet powered aircraft. Tecnam’s initial research suggests that manufacturing this visionary aircraft is both technically and economically achievable. The remarkable progress in the development and reliability of thermic and mechanical efficiency now available in high bypass, two-spool turbofan engines, along with major advances in materials ensures that production of the ‘P JET’ is a feasible proposition.

The anticipated ‘P JET’ aircraft configuration would see the engine ‘podded’ thus ensuring the maximum efficiency to achieve the full ram-air intake effect, as this would not interfere with the primary aircraft structure and would also enable easier access for maintenance inspections, complete engine disassembling and other servicing requirements as well as enhanced safety protection such as fire.

Other key design features will include a twin-tail vertical stabilizer: its shielding effect to the horizontal surface will increase (being equal the exposed surface) the control power and stability.

Tecnam anticipates that the ‘P JET’ cabin will be available both pressurized and non-pressurized, for use with an airframe integrated oxygen system.

Development will be based on achieving CS-23 and FAR 23 certification.

Zaista je velika šteta što su Japanu "potkresana krila" u domenu izvoza vojne tehnologije a naročito avijacije. Po meni aerodinamički mnogo bolje rešenje od recimo Alpha Jeta ili niskobuđetnog (relativno nove izvedbe kineskog K-8 Karakorum) ... je KAWASAKI T-4 ; Od 1988 proizvedeno 208 letelica.

Zbirno 32 Kn potiska ( 2 × Ishikawajima-Harima F3-IHI-30 turbofans, 16 Kn ... ), maksimalna brzina 1,038 km/h , visoka preglednost iz jednodelnog vetrobrana, arhiterktura krila , vertikalac sa produženim korenim delom kao i repne površine ... govore jedino o odličnim letnim karakteristikama.

On 23 February 2008, the Hawk Mk. 132 formally entered service with the Indian Air Force (IAF),[50] after one of the most protracted procurements in India's history, two decades having elapsed between the initial interest and the contract signing on 26 March 2004. The IAF received 24 aircraft directly from BAE Systems with deliveries beginning in November 2007, and further 42 Hawks assembled by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited between 2008 and 2011.[51] In February 2008, India planned to order 57 more Hawks, with 40 going to the Indian Air Force and the remaining 17 to the Indian Navy.[52][53]

In July 2010, it was announced that the IAF and the Navy would receive the additional 57 aircraft.[54] The additional aircraft will be all built in India by Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL), continuing to work under licence from BAE.[55] On 10 February 2011, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and GE Aviation signed a contract under which GE Aviation will conduct the next 30 years of maintenance on the Hawk fleet.[56] In 2011, the IAF was reportedly unhappy with the provision of spare components;[57] In December 2011, BAE received a contract to provide India with spares and ground support.[58]

The Hawk fleet is based at IAF's Bidar station in north Karnataka, about 700 km from Bangalore.
