Sve možemo da kažemo o Rusima, samo ne možemo da kažemo da su neozbiljna vojska. Ako je puštena buva, da će se praviti novi "Ruslan", onda verujem da je, što se konstrukcije tiče, uradjeno barem 80% potrebnih radova. I da su na stolovima za ispitivanje novi, ili stari poboljšani motori. I da je sve napravljeno po planu "zamene uvoznih proizvoda". Kao i da Kinezi rade mnogo što šta na istu temu, pošto su kupili ne samo avion, nego i planove i nacrte za avion "Mrija". Kao i ime "Antonov", tako da ga mogu samostalno proizvoditi.

Osim toga, u vreme Janukoviča, izmedju dve zemlje potpisan je sporazum o pravljenju "Novog Ruslana". Za rauliku od novih ukradinskih vlasti koje sporazume ne poštuju, Rusi ih se drže. Naročito kada im idu u prilog.

Mislim da se unapred ukradinski "remontni kapaciteti" bore za svoje parče hleba u vreme kada novi "Ruslan" poleti i kada krene njegova prodaja po svetu. A taj momenat nećemo dugo čekati.

Apsolurno su ozbiljni kao vojska. Sto se u slucaju Ruslana zaboravlja jeste da on dobrano kao civil zaradjuje pare... E tu mini slonic! A mrga slon u VVS. I ovce i novce za Rusiju.

Ne verujem da će VVS pristati ikada na avion takve tonaže i klase transporta da mu se smanji broj motora. Razloga ima više nego jedan.

to zaboravi. Odrekli su se oni i puno unosnijih poslova u ime američkog sna, tj. noćne more.

IL-106 will meet all modern requirements for the aerobatic flight complex, and for the resource, and for the transported goods. Thus, discussions about the need to recreate the AN-124 ended. We are starting to develop the IL-106."

As for the particulars, Talikov said that the new engines that will power the Il-106 will be provided by United Engine Corporation and will be capable of 24-26 tons of thrust. The design will be able to regularly haul 80 tons of cargo, and could lift off with 110-120 tons in a pinch. Talikov also says the aircraft will be rolled out around 2025-2026 based on the Russian MoD's requirements.

Really what he is describing is something between a C-17 and AN-124 in terms of raw airlifting power. This makes sense as the vast majority of missions do not require the extremes of the Condor's weight-lifting abilities, but do require a large internal volume. An aircraft that is a bit less capable would also cost less to manufacture and maintain, while also keeping within the limits of current Russian aerospace technology. This also makes sense investment-wise as saving money to create an aircraft that is more tailored to the Russian military's modern needs instead of an exact replacement for the An-124, an aircraft that first flew in the early 1980s. Beyond new engines and avionics, exactly how much in common an updated IL-106 design would have with the one that originated nearly thirty years ago remains unclear, but it is likely that modern manufacturing techniques and material science would be applied to the old design.

Personnel at the center built the model, which they expect to begin testing the T-106 variable-density wind tunnel soon. Experiments, including exploring potential takeoff and landing performance, is set to continue in the T-106, as well as another wind tunnel known as the T-102, in 2020.

TsAGI says that the model is readily reconfigurable, which will allow them to explore various different nose, wingtip, rear fuselage, engine nacelle, and landing gear fairing configurations. It also presently lacks a tail of any kind, though the center said it was looking primarily at a single vertical tail with a two-section rudder, as is found on the An-124.
