Citat:Another one expected in the near future is the Su-57. Since the launch of the development program, more than 15 years have passed, when all the same military will receive not experienced, but already serial fighters?
"We have signed a contract with the Defense Ministry, and we are starting to ship aircraft to VKS already since 2019." These are directly serial machines that will not take part in the tests, but will already be in operation. In total, 15 cars will be delivered in the near future.
- The airplanes delivered within the framework of OKR (experimental design work) are now in experimental-military operation and have already visited Syria. How did they manifest themselves in combat conditions?
- Indeed, they showed themselves. Were in Syria, received the so-called baptism of fire, all the tasks were solved by both the aircraft and the weapons that were used. The pledged characteristics are confirmed. We, of course, received a large amount of information - those nuances and subtleties that would be difficult to obtain in the process of testing and flying here in Russia, in a peaceful atmosphere. This amount of data has activated the work.
- So there will be some changes in the serial appearance based on the results of the Syrian experience?
- Changes on the aircraft are always. The plane that stopped changing, stopped upgrading is a dying airplane, even if it has not yet entered service. New types of weapons are emerging, new versions of software and other various systems are emerging. In this, by the way, the meaning of modularity. It involves the possibility of modernization without the replacement of a large amount of iron.
Su-57 is a highly intelligent, automated aircraft, largely a flying artificial intelligence that solves a large number of tasks for the pilot and allows him to focus on combat missions, where it is still difficult to replace a person.
So the plane evolves over time, and during these 15 years it has evolved considerably. Well, we will not dwell on this further. Su-57 is a promising platform for the creation of new aircraft in various designs.
- It was stated that the mass production of the Su-57 is not planned, apparently, it will be limited to a small batch. Is it because of its high cost?
- In my opinion, the best answer was given to the contract signed with the Ministry of Defense on the eve of the meeting. But, of course, the Su-57 has fundamentally different capabilities. This requires a smooth transition from fourth-generation aircraft to the fifth.
Now we are at the stage of replacement of third-generation aircraft with the fourth aircraft - Su-35, MiG-35, Su-30SM, Su-34. At the next stage they will be replaced more and more by the fifth generation aircraft. To violate this sequence by mass deliveries of a fifth-generation aircraft at once is probably not entirely correct. In our opinion, the issue here is not so much financial as in the provision of this smooth transition.
In general, we believe that the fifth-generation fighter of the Su-57 and the light MiG-35 fighter are the best proposals in its class on the ratio of flight-technical characteristics of aircraft, combat capabilities and prices.
- And what is the fundamental difference of the fifth generation from the same Su-35, for example?
- Well, these are completely different planes. First of all - low visibility due to another aerodynamic configuration, another glider, which is quite successfully designed, plus a unique, we developed a radio-absorbing coating. This and the new avionics (on-board radio electronic equipment - IF), new communication systems, a new on-board defense complex, a new locator that allows you to "see" enemy aircraft at a greater distance than the fourth-generation aircraft, which gives an advantage over the launch time of missiles - yes there all new! But the main thing, of course, is new weapons, new missiles, which also have excellent characteristics.
- Are there any plans to create a deck version of the Su-57? Or a fundamentally new fighter, a vertical takeoff aircraft for a prospective Russian aircraft carrier?
- We have some experience on the plane of vertical take-off and landing - both from Soviet times and recently. Work on shipborne options continues. It is necessary from the military to get a clear mission, which we will carry out.
