The Indian Air Force is considering extending the operational life of its Su-30 MKI fighter jets by another 20 years or more.
With over 260 of these planes in its fleet, the IAF aims to ensure their availability for operations until 2045 and beyond.
"Indian Air Force is looking to extend the service life of the fighter jets by another 20 years or more. Indian Air Force carries out extensive tests on the airframe and other parts of the aircraft to extend their service life and has had earlier experience in doing so," defence officials told Indian media.
Indian Air Force is also working on boosting the capabilities of the aircraft by equipping it with major upgrades in terms of indigenous advanced radars, avionics and weapon systems. It is working to upgrade its fleet of Sukohi-30 MKI fighters with indigenous weapon systems and a radar named Virupaaksha.
"Service life extension would help the Indian Air Force to maintain the fleet of its mighty Su-30s around 2045-2050," they said.

Истребители Су-30К (Т-10ПК) представляют собой "переходные" самолеты, построенные в качестве первых 18 машин на Иркутском авиационном заводе АО "Корпорация "Иркут" для поставки Индии по программе Су-30МКИ по соглашениям 1996 и 1998 годов.
Самолеты Су-30К (серийные номера с 04-01 по 04-10 и с 05-01 по 05-08 ) были поставлены ВВС Индии в 1997-1999 годах, но по соглашению от декабря 2005 года были возвращены индийской стороной корпорации "Иркут" в обмен на поставку Индии 18 новых полноценных истребителей Су-30МКИ иркутского производства в 2007 году. https://t.me/milinfolive/114529

Camouflage from good old days
I've been following the history of the Su-30 aircraft since its very beginnings, and I've seen a lot over the decades, but now something truly remarkable has happened. The latest Su-30s delivered to Ethiopia were painted in a camouflage almost identical to one of the first Su-30MK export prototypes from 1994, number 603. Even earlier, it was one of two Su-27PUs used by the LII Test Pilots aerobatic team, in which the man-legend Anatoly Kvochur flew. Later aircraft was donated to Sukhoi bureau for Su-30MK tests program. In 1993 converted to prototype of Su-30MK, export version of Su-30. In 2001 aircraft was renumbered to 07 and repainted like Su-30MKI prototypes and used for tests in MKI program and Su-30KN program.

It is worth remembering that of the two batches of former 18 Indian Su-30MKI-I and Su-30MKI-II aircraft, 12 are currently flying in Angola, so four more should be expected in Ethiopia.
