Погинули амерички војници су после рата пребачени на војно гробље у Београду, било је предвиђено место на Видиковцу ако се добро сећам, али су убрзо затим пребачени у Италију.
У IDPF (Individual Deceased Personnel File) се налазе и ти подаци. Иначе добијање овог документа је бесплатно, мада се чека годину дана.

8 Sep 44: low-level attack - the first Allied attack took place this date when 35 P-51
Mustangs made repeated strafing passes over the airfield claiming 22 Ju 52s from III./TG 2
plus 6 more damaged, 19 Ju 88s, 7 Fw 190s, 5 Fi 156s and 5 other a/c from a variety of
units for a total of 58 destroyed on the ground. A Luftwaffe situation report dated 10
September supports these figures and blamed the fiasco on “insufficient Flak defenses.”

This is likely the last original unrestored P-51D Mustang in original military configuration left anywhere in the world, and fortunately for someone, it’s currently for sale for the not inconsiderable sum of $4,500,000 USD.

Exactly how this warbird ended up being dry stored for over 30 years isn’t publicly known, but we do know that this is an original Guatemalean Air Force North American P-51D (s/n 44-77902). It was in service with the Guatemaleans from 1954 till 1972 when it was sold to a private owner in the United States, this new owner then flew the plane from 1972 to 1983 before dry storing it.

The values on WWII-era warbirds like this has skyrocketed over the past 30 years so it’s unusual that an aircraft this valuable would remain hidden that long. After inspection it was certified that this P-51D is in all original condition with an unrestored, undamaged airframe exactly as it was purchased from the Fuerza Aerea Guatemalteca with all of its armor plating and equipment is still installed.

Under the hood you’ll find a Packard Merlin V-1650-7 with Rolls-Royce 620 heads and banks, and there’s a Hamilton Standard 24-D50 paddle propeller fitted up front. It does appear that this Mustang is still fitted with its six .50 caliber (12.7 mm) M2/AN Browning machine guns, and the cockpit is fully equipped the same as it was the day it landed for the last time in 1983.

P-51 Mustang returns home to Kentucky Air Guard after 63 years
Citat:A P-51 Mustang arrived back on the flight line of the Kentucky Air National Guard Base here April 12, more than six decades after departing.
The Mustang, serial number of 44-74202, was once assigned to the unit as a military fighter aircraft from 1953 to 1956. Now, it was returning home as a fully restored civilian warbird to fly in the 2019 Thunder Over Louisville air show.
The P-51’s new owners, R.T. Dickson Jr. and his father, R.T. Dickson Sr., purchased the Mustang in 2012 after more than 50 years of storage and restoration.
