Diplomatic row jeopardizes $1.5B helicopter deal between Turkey and Pakistan

Citat:The T129, based on its predecessor A129 Mangusta, is a twin-engine multirole attack helicopter. The T129 is powered by two LHTEC T800-4A turboshaft engines. Each engine can produce 1,014 kilowatts of output power. The T800-4A is an export version of the CTS800 engine. LHTEC is a joint venture between the American firm Honeywell and the British company Rolls-Royce.
“Apparently we shall need U.S. export licenses to go ahead with the T129 deal,” a senior procurement official said. “This is not a technological or financial matter but is purely political at the moment.”

PAF Technical Group Picks TAI's T129 ATAK as Its Future Attack Helicopter

During the founding anniversary of the PAF's 15th Strike Wing last 26 November 2018, no other than the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, Lt. Gen. Galileo Kintanar, confirmed in his speech that the Technical Working Group (TWG) handling the PAF's Attack Helicopter Acquisition Project has selected their choice in the form of the Turkish-made T129 ATAK attack helicopter, manufactured by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).

Turkish Bank May Finance PHL’s Attack Helicopter Project
Citat:There is now a possibility that the Turkish Export Import Bank (Eximbank) may provide financing to the Philippine government for the acquisition of Turkish T129 ATAK helicopters.
It could be recalled that on December 7, National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana revealed that the technical working group (TWG) of Philippine Air Force (PAF) chose the said Turkish attack helicopter.

Turkey, Philippines Sign Deal for Defense Cooperation

Turkey signed an agreement with the Philippines that includes the sale of Ankara’s indigenous combat helicopters, which are set to join Manila’s aerial fleet.
In addition to the sale of ATAK helicopters, the agreement, signed by the two countries’ defense ministries, includes more military cooperation between Turkey and the Philippines.
