Pakistancima odlozena isporuka zbog embarga
Citat:Pakistan is yet to receive its first three AH-1Z Vipers. These attack helicopters are assembled but currently embargoed and put into storage, probably at NAS Patuxent River (MD). The Naval Air Systems Command presolicitation notice is for:
"The continuation of the preservation, storage and de-preservation effort of three (3) AH-1Z helicopters. This effort is necessary to maintain the aircraft in a preservation state such that they will be able to return to flight following de-preservation."
Pakistan hopes to receive twelve AH-1Zs through the US Foreign Military Sale programme, approved by the US State Department in 2015. They ordered three and nine aircraft in August 2015 and April 2016, respectively. In June 2017 it was reported by Bell Helicopter that the Asian country would receive its first three AH-1Z by the end of 2017. The remaining nine will be delivered in 2018.
The new 120 day storage period follows on the previous stint slated to last until October 2018.

Citat:Bell Helicopter Textron Inc., Fort Worth (TX), is awarded an almost USD $510 million for the manufacture and delivery of 29 Lot 15 production AH-1Z Viper in support of the Marine Corps H-1 upgrade program within the Fiscal Year 2018. As reported on 18 August 2018 on Scramble Facebook News, currently about half of the 189 Z-models (96 helicopters) that the USMC planned to purchase have been delivered.
In addition, this contract provides for long lead material and components for an additional seven Lot 16 helicopters.

Though the Kenya Air Force acquired the aircraft over a year ago, they have not flown any missions and now some pilots and air technicians are quietly raising questions over the airworthiness of the helicopters.
Air Force officers claim that the issue of the Cobra helicopters, which one officer described as “scrap metal”, is being hushed up in the military.
The story of the Cobras, the world’s first production attack helicopters, which were acquired discreetly, first came to light in May last year, when a video was posted online showing the Kenya Air Force (KAF) receiving a stripped down Cobra at the Laikipia Air Base.
A month later, the Kingdom of Jordan announced that it had donated the Cobras to Kenya in a deal in which the US-manufacturer, the Bell Helicopter Company, reported that it would provide training and maintenance for the Cobras.
