Venecuela je odlučila da avione OV-10 bronko iz 15. grupe za specijalne operacije zameni helikopterima Mi-28NE, pošto zbog američkog embarga nije mogla da nabavi avione A-29 super tukano.

The Venezuelan Air force will begin to receive the first attack helicopters Mi-28NE Night Hunter, in the second half of 2009, as a spokesman of the plant Rostvertol announced.

The Mi-28NE (variant of export of the My-28N) it is an attack helicopter of last generation, of two pilots (I steer and one navigator operator) dedicated to destroy tanks, armored vehicles, and capabilities of low speed to face the enemy troops with deadly force. The first copies of this sophisticated helicopter are being hardly used by the Russian Armed forces, for that that Venezuela will become its first client.

In a same way, it makes the search, the localization and to identify all of the targets in air and in the ground, transmitting the respective data to the terrestrial control points.
Međutim, do danas je proizveden samo jedan Mi-28NE za Venecuelu iako je planirano da se prvi helikopteri isporuče Venecueli polovinom 2009.
