Tunisia to receive four 'modified' UH-60M helos
Citat:The Tunisian government is to receive four 'modified' Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk utility helicopters by the end of June 2019, the US Department of Defense (DoD) announced on 30 June.
The contract is a USD79.7 million modification to an award for eight 'green' helicopters that was made in March. These initial eight unmodified platforms will be delivered before 31 December 2016.
Tunisia requested 12 helicopters valued at USD700 million in July 2014. In addition to the machines, the request includes 24 7.62 mm M134 Miniguns, 24 12.7 mm (.50 inch) GAU-19 Gatling guns, 24 70 mm Hydra rocket pods, and the ability to integrate laser-guided variants of the rockets. Other equipment will include Wescam MX-15Di or Brite Star II electro-optical/infrared designators and AN/AVS-9 night-vision goggles. The countermeasures suite is to comprise AN/APR-39A(V)4 radar warning receivers, AN/AAR-57 missile warning systems, and AN/AVR-2B(V)1 laser warning systems.
The UH-60M is the newest Black Hawk variant in service with the US Army, incorporating more powerful and reliable General Electric T700-GE-701D engines, enhanced rotor blades, and a fully digital 'glass' cockpit.
