Citat:On 2 August 2018, three Israeli Air Force F-16D Barak's from 109th The Valley Squadron (serials 023, 041 and 063), originating from Ramat David air base (Israel) landed on Zagreb/Pleso air base (Croatia) for a visit!
The three Barak's will stay until 5 August and on that Sunday they will fly a mission with two, possible three MiG-21's of the Hrvatske Zračne Snage (Croatian Air Force). These MiG-21Bis and MiG-21UMs belong to 91 Zrakoplovna Baza (91ZB), Eskadrila Borbenih Aviona (EBA), Combat Aviation Squadron based Zagreb/Pleso.
The mission will lead over fortress Knin near Sibenik where they will make some overflights for the Croatian National Day! After the mission, the three F-16s will fly back to Ramat David.
This is the very first visit of IAF F-16s to Croatia. As reported earlier, Croatia purchased twelve F-16D Fighting Falcons from Israel, strikingly, aircraft from 109sq. So most probably, these exact three Barak's will become Croatian Fighting Falcons from early 2020, when first deliveries are expected.
