+ F-18 za Ukrajinu

I evo ih https://www.afr.com/politics/federal/retired-raaf-.....605-p5de0h

Citat:Retired RAAF fighter jets could be sent to Ukraine

Australia, the US and Ukraine are discussing sending 41 Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 Hornets to Kyiv helping fulfil part of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request for fighter jets, rather than sending them to the scrapheap as planned.

Sources have told The Australian Financial Review that the US, which recently gave permission to other Western allies to supply Ukraine with advanced fighter jets, including US-made F-16s, is favourably disposed to the idea of gifting Ukraine the F/A-18s.

Washington’s approval is needed because it owns the intellectual property on the jets that have been retired by the RAAF and which are being replaced by F-35s, of which Australia has ordered 72.

The retired F/A-18s are sitting in a hangar at the Williamtown RAAF base outside Newcastle and unless sent to Ukraine, will either be scrapped or sold to a private sector aviation company, RAVN Aerospace, to use in the US as “enemies” for military aviators to train against

Robert Potter, an Australian security expert advising the Ukrainian government, confirmed negotiations were underway, but a specific deal is yet to be finalised.

Raspituju se za stanje tih uskladistenih.

Citat:Ukraine has asked Australia about the condition of dozens of retired F-18 fighter jets, the country’s ambassador told AFP on Tuesday, eyeing a potential weapons transfer that could significantly boost Kyiv’s airpower.

Vasyl Myroshnychenko said an initial request had been made about the state of an estimated 41 planes stored at an air base north of Sydney.

“There has been a request for information,” Myroshnychenko said. “Ukraine is looking at fighter jet capabilities, including this one.”

Stari Mig-29, Su-27 i Su-25 malo sta mogu i malo sta imaju, a neki i uopste i saznaju prekasno sta stize.

Ukraine’s Armor Appears To Have A Russian Attack Helicopter Problem

Citat:Russian Ka-52 attack helicopters’ presence at the front highlights the need for highly mobile and survivable short-range air defenses.

https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/ukraines-arm.....er-problem

Citat:However, RAVN has recently identified 14 of the F/A-18 jets that are in the best condition and could potentially be sold to the Ukrainians as part of a “revitalization and training” program.

According to RAVN’s condition report, viewed by the Financial Review, these 14 aircraft fall well short of the 6,000-hour limit of Estimated Life Expectancy for each airframe. The report reveals that these particular aircraft have the most recent flights and collectively offer over 3,000 flight hours, with three of them being two-seaters. RAVN also believes that through regular inspections, the planes could continue to fly even longer, extending their total flight hours significantly.

“As these aircraft approach their Estimated Life Expectancy, a periodic inspection will be conducted, resulting in an additional 8,400 flight hours across all 14 aircraft,” states the report. By combining the current available flight hours with the hours available after the first periodic inspection, these 14 F/A-18s would have approximately 12,000 flight hours at their disposal. Moreover, continued inspection and analysis could potentially extend the life of an individual aircraft to 10,000 flight hours.
