Juzna Koreja je danas testirala novi PVO sistem KM-SAM - ispaljene su 2 rakete na krajnji domet od 40km i pogodile su mete:

KM-SAM je dobar PVO sistem - moze da gadja do 6 ciljeva istovremeno, horizontalni domet 40km, vertikalni 15km, ima dobar radar sa odlicnim protiv-elektronskim merama.

According to the Hanwha Defense Systems company, the 30mm complex gun and missile air defense system ‘Hybrid BIHO’ is a weapon system under combat arrangement with the South Korean Army. It consists of a 30mm self-propelled anti-aircraft defense system ‘BIHO’ combined with the portable surface-to-air guided missile system and intercepts low altitude infiltrating enemy aircraft and helicopters. The ‘Hybrid BIHO’ can carry a total of 4 guided missiles with an effective range of 5km.

The system features the detection distance of 21km and excellent tracking and aiming capability against enemy aircraft infiltration. In so doing, Hybrid BIHO based on the tracked armored vehicle with a driving speed of up to 60km/h as well as capability for climbing and crossing longitudinal and traverse slopes. It combines an electro-optically guided 30 mm gun system fitted with four additional MANPADS launchers an with a surveillance radar system on a tracked armored chassis.

Citat:According to forecasts, the South Korean company Hanwha Defense Systems with its most advanced self-propelled anti-aircraft defence system, called the Hybrid BIHO, could outrun Russia at the arms market after Pantsir-S1’s failure in Syria.
Early, during an overnight raid on purported Iranian positions in Syria, Israeli rockets hit a Russian-made Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery system. A few months ago, Russian air defence system could not bring down the cruise missiles and, in addition, the Pantsir has a number of difficulties in combating lightweight drones.
Against the backdrop of problems with the Russian system, a proposal from South Korea interested a large number of potential customers. The Hybrid BIHO consists of a 30mm self-propelled anti-aircraft defense system ‘BIHO’ combined with the portable surface-to-air guided missile system and intercepts low altitude infiltrating enemy aircraft and helicopters. The Hybrid BIHO can carry a total of 4 guided missiles with an effective range of 5km with upgraded potential to 8-10 km.
South Kores’s air defence system features the detection distance of 21km and excellent tracking and aiming capability against enemy aircraft infiltration. The standard version of the Biho is armed with two 30 mm automatic cannons. The cyclic rate of fire for a single gun is 600 rounds per minute.
Each gun is provided with 300 rounds of ready to use ammunition. Also, it carries 4 short-range surface-to-air missile systems with effective ranges of 5km (in future 8-10).
The missiles features an integral Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system, full night and adverse weather capabilities, and a two-color infrared seeker to aid in negating countermeasures.

Citat:The Biho II is based on the 8x8 wheeled chassis of the Tigon armored vehicle that was unveiled during the Defense Exhibition DX Korea in September 2018. The hull of the vehicle is of all-welded steel armor but can be fitted with applique armor to improve protection against ballistic and mine threats.

The Biho II vehicle is powered by a newly powerpack developed by the Company Caterpillar including a turbocharged and intercooled 6-cylinder inline diesel developing 525 hp. coupled to a 4500SP electronically controlled automatic transmission with six forward and one reverse gears from Allison.

The BiHo II is fitted with an unmanned turret that can be armed with one 30 or 40mm cannon able to fire airburst ammunition, a new type of tactical anti-personnel explosive ammunition that detonates in midair, causing air burst effect fragment damage to an enemy. The vehicle has a crew of three including driver, commander and gunner.

In addition to the main armament, the Biho II can be armed with surface-to-air missile launchers that can be mounted to the roof side of the turret.

The turret of the Biho II is fitted with on-board small target radar mounted to the right side of the turret which has a maximum range of 15 km and a surveillance radar mounted on the roof of the turret which has a maximum range of 35 km. It has a maximum tracking range of 7 km for fighter aircraft and 3 km for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Systems).

According to a video released on the Hanwha booth at EDEX 2018, the new unmanned air defense turret can be also fitted to the chassis of the new tracked armored vehicle AS21 Redback.
