Thailand to Re-work Chinese Submarine Purchase Plan
Citat:The Thai Navy will rework funding pattern for the purchase of three Chinese submarines and resubmit the proposal to the cabinet for approval.
The purchase proposal was on the cabinet agenda last week but withdrawn amid a report the Defence Ministry wanted the navy to spread payments for the submarines over 10 years rather than seven, Thai media reported.

China to build four submarines in Karachi
Pakistan to build half of Type 041 submarine fleet in country - IHS Jane's 360
Pakistan will build four of the eight submarines it plans to purchase from China, potentially speeding up the timeframe for delivery of the class to the Pakistan Navy, according to Rana Tanveer Hussain, minister for defence production.
He told journalists on 6 October that the four boats will be built at the Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KSEW), which is run by the Pakistan Navy.
"The two projects [construction of four boats in China and four boats in Pakistan] will begin simultaneously," he said. Hussain added that a training centre will also be created at KSEW.
Though the minister did not specify the types of boats that are being purchased, Pakistani and Western officials have previously told IHS Jane's they are likely to be the Type 041 'Yuan'-class diesel electric attack submarine or a variant of that platform, already in service with China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN).

Thailand buys $530 million submarine from China
Citat:Thailand has bought the first of three submarines from China in the strongest signal yet the military-ruled country is reducing reliance on its long-time ally, the United States.
A Thai navy admiral signed an agreement for the $US393 million ($530 million) Yuan-class diesel vessel in Beijing even though Thailand's state audit office is still investigating the purchase.
