Nova verzija, Enhanced Brimstone

Citat:The trials demonstrated the missile engagement envelope is significantly increased over the in-service missile, providing a 100% increase in stand-off range (based on MBDA modeling and release ranges of the in-service missile). Through the tests Brimstone demonstrated the significantly increased ability to engage targets at high off-bore sight angles, thus improving its capability to fire from a launch platform performing close air support (CAS) missions. These aircraft and UAVs are often flying pattern (‘wheel’) over the battlefield, and would be able to launch the Brimstone quickly, without the need to maneuver the platform to align with the target.

Other new features of Brimstone also proven through the recent tests include the performance of the new warhead, against armored and non-armoured targets. This new warhead and propulsion system, conforming to Insensitive Munition (IM) requirements, to bring additional deployment benefits.

MBDA Preparing To Conduct Brimstone 2 Missile Test With Apache
Citat:European missile-maker MBDA is poised to conduct firings of its Brimstone 2 missile from a Boeing AH-64E Apache as part of an effort to persuade the British Army to adopt the weapon on a new helicopter fleet it is planning to purchase.
A firing demonstration of the Brimstone 2 onboard the latest version of the Apache is linked to a contract signed last September by MBDA’s UK arm and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to look at the feasibility of integrating the weapon onboard the latest "E" standard Apache the British are looking at buying to replace their AH1 version of the helicopter.
A spokesperson for the MoD confirmed the test firings are scheduled for this month.

Drones to be equipped with Britain’s much-vaunted, barely used, Brimstone missiles
Citat:UK drones are to be equipped with the much-vaunted Brimstone missiles which were used to justify involvement in Syria but then barely used, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed.
The Brimstone missile, which the UK military claims is particularly accurate, will be used by Britain’s ‘Protector’ drones, rebranded last year from their actual name: Predators.
