Pentagon taps General Dynamics to test fireball bunker bomb

Citat:The US Air Force could soon have a new air-delivered tool in its arsenal for destroying chemical and biological weapons – a Hammer, fittingly, or Heated And Mobile Munitions Employing Rockets.

A $7.2 million contract recently awarded to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems Aerospace furthers the development of a new munitions concept, which involves littering an underground bunker or weapons storage facility with hundreds of 2.4kg (5.5lb) rocket-propelled fireballs designed to incinerate chemical and biological agents at temperatures in excess 538°C (1,000°F).

The “kinetic fireball incendiaries” would be delivered inside a 907kg (2,000lb) BLU-109B bunker bomb – which has enough punching power to penetrate 1.8m (6ft) of reinforced concrete.

Turk Missile-Maker To Pitch Rockets, Anti-Tank Missiles to Poland

Citat:Turkey's state-controlled missile producer Roketsan signed a deal with the Polish company WZL1 to make its debut in Poland.

Roketsan said the deal with WZL1 aims to have two of its products, the Cirit and the UMTAS, integrated into Polish armed forces platforms.

"Roketsan and WZL1 have agreed to cooperate in order to offer solutions [to the Polish military] based on Roketsan's Cirit and UMTAS systems," the company said.

Roketsan won a $196.2 million contract from the United Arab Emirates for its Cirit laser-guided rocket system in 2014. Cirit is one of several programs launched by Turkey to equip the Turkish Army's T-129, AH-1P Cobra and AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopters with low-cost precision strike capabilities. The 70mm rocket has a range of eight kilometers.
