Japan Ground Self-Defense Force displays new rifle and pistol
Citat:The 5.56 mm rifle, which has been given the JGSDF designation ‘Type 20’, is manufactured by Howa Machinery in the central Japanese city of Kiyosu under the name ‘Howa5.56’.
Citat:As for the pistol, the service displayed the SFP9 9 mm handgun by German manufacturer Heckler & Koch. The weapon had been chosen by the MoD in December 2019 over two other candidates: the Beretta APX and the Glock 17 pistols.
The spokesperson said the gun has an adjustable grip making it easier to handle than the in-service Minebea P9 9 mm pistol.

To ostrvo što kupiše od Amera... jel' to sopstvena ostrva otkupljuju? Možda ponude i Rusima za Kurile-mada ovi teško da će pristati s obzirom koliko su im zgodni da lagano drže ceo Japan u šahu...

Kako se na kraju završi ona frka što se bila digla oko ona 2 gola ostrva pre koju godinu? Zamalo rat izbi, zveckalo se oružjem i nuklearkama... Kome pripadoše na kraju, Kini, Japanu ili J.Koreji?
Није Јапан купио острво од САД, него од неке фирме из Токија која је била власник. Градиће се војна (одбрамбена како већ) база за Јапанце и за Амере који ће ту вежбати слетање авиона намењењних за носаче.

Japan to acquire long-range standoff missiles by 2022
Citat:Japan’s Defense Ministry plans to acquire by March 2022 standoff missiles with a range of about 500 kilometers that can attack targets from outside the ranges of enemy missiles, according to sources.
The acquisition is in line with the medium-term defense buildup program for fiscal 2019-2023.
The new standoff missiles, expected to have the longest range among all the Self-Defense Forces’ current systems, will be mounted on F-35 cutting-edge stealth fighters, the sources said.
Since scrapping its plan to deploy Aegis Ashore land-based interceptor missile batteries earlier this year, the government has held active discussions on possible deterrents to prevent attacks with ballistic missiles, including acquiring the capability to strike enemy bases.

Japanese Soryu-class submarine collides with cargo ship off Kochi
Citat:A Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) Soryu-class submarine collided with a commercial vessel off Kochi Prefecture on Monday, local reports say.
The yet-to-be identified submarine hit the cargo ship with its sail as it was about to surface as part a training evolution, the reports said.
According to first information shared by officials, at least three submariners were injured in the incident. The extent of damages sustained by the submarine is yet unknown.
Japan Coast Guard officials said no injuries had been reported on the cargo ship.
