Iran believes that once its formerly secret nuclear facility at Fordow becomes fully operational, threats of military attacks by the West will become harmless and other nations will have to lift their economic sanctions against the Islamic government.

In an interview Tuesday on Iran’s state-owned television network IRIB, Mehdi Mohammadi, an international affairs and nuclear program expert, said the full operation of Iran’s Fordow Nuclear Enrichment Plant “will change the strategic equation of Iran’s nuclear issue” and create a new environment for negotiations with the West.

Mohammadi regularly appears on Iran’s state media. He is often quoted by both Iranian and international media on Iran’s nuclear program and Middle Eastern affairs.

An account of Mohammadi’s television appearance was described on the independent news website IranNuc.ir, which has quoted several Iranian authorities this year on matters concerning the Islamic republic’s nuclear program.
In the Tuesday interview, also mentioned more briefly in other Iranian news outlets, Mohammadi said the most important tools for the West in confronting the Iranian nuclear program are military threats and sanctions.
“Sanctions became the cane under the arms of the seditionists,” he said. “Their goal was to put pressure on the [Iranian] people, but the regime did not allow it to have such an effect.”

Since Fordow is immune to a military attack, he said, its full operation will make any military threat irrelevant and therefore will cause the West to lose motive for continuing sanctions.

Other experts told The Washington Post last month that the heaviest U.S. bunker-buster bombs could, in fact, breach the Fordow plant.

Last month the International Atomic Energy Agency, the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog, reported that 900 centrifuges have been installed at Fordow. Those centrifuges allow Iran to enrich uranium to the level of 20 percent purity, which is 90 percent of the level required for nuclear weapons. The IAEA also said another 2,000 centrifuges could be installed at the Fordow facility.
While the West believes a military option and sanctions will make the leaders of the Islamic government change course, the Iranians believe a more aggressive nuclear program will convince the West to give up its threats and accept a nuclear Iran.

Mohammadi referred to a recent report by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz that claims Israel had destroyed Iranian nuclear sites six months ago, stating that the Israelis currently are psychologically unbalanced and distressed. “The occupier of the Quds [Jerusalem] is very worried that it will be left alone in confronting Iran and that even America and Europe will not buy its logic.”
Mohammadi said the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East is a big shock to Israel. The Islamic government sees the uprisings in the region as an “Islamic Awakening” that will ultimately result in the defeat of Israel and America.

The West, he added, did not believe Iran would be able to install working fuel rods in a nuclear research reactor, and expected Iran to accept the terms of negotiations at the 2011 “five plus one” meeting in Istanbul.

But Mohammadi said that not only has Iran increased the number of centrifuges at the Natanz nuclear facility to 9,000, but it also has installed a new generation of centrifuges that enrich uranium faster.

He said the goal of assassinating the Iranian nuclear scientist Majid Shahriari in 2010 was to stop Iran’s advancement in nuclear fuel rods, but “the enemy did not succeed in stopping Iran’s achievement.”

The IranNuc.ir website described Mohammadi’s characterization of Israel as “psychologically unbalanced and distressed.”
The world learned about the existence of the Fordow site in 2009 when the Iranians disclosed it to the IAEA right before President Obama, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy mentioned the site at the G-20 summit in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Israeli officials have stated their concerns that a fully operational Fordow plant would create a “zone of immunity” for the Islamic government where the Iranians could further enrich the 20 percent stock to weapons-grade material within weeks.

On Feb. 15, Iranian officials announced a series of nuclear achievements: loading their Tehran reactor with domestic nuclear fuel plates, increasing the Natanz facility’s inventory of centrifuges by 3,000 and installing a new generation of centrifuges there that can boost the production of enriched uranium by half.

The Islamic government in Iran continues with its illicit nuclear enrichment program despite four sets of U.N. sanctions. It has enough low-enriched uranium for six nuclear bombs“ that material would require further enrichment before becoming weaponizable.
Iran is also concurrently expanding its missile program and working on intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United States.

Nije neki izvor i vjerovatno je Izraelska propaganda s ciljem povečanja pritiska na Iran ali vrti se po forumima pa sami procjenite.

German and Japanese intelligence sources Monday, March 5, confirmed – and qualified - to DEBKAfile reports in the German Der Spiegel and Welt am Sonntag that Western intelligence had known for 11 months that at least one of North Korea’s covert nuclear tests in 2010 was carried out on an Iranian radioactive bomb or nuclear warhead.

Those sources report five facts are known for sure:

1. North Korea carried out two covert underground nuclear explosions in mid-April and around May 11 of 2010 equivalent to 50- 200 tonnes of TNT.

2. Two highly lethal heavy hydrogen isotopes, deuterium and tritium, typical of a nuclear fission explosion and producing long-term contamination of the atmosphere, were detected and analyzed by Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBOTO) monitoring stations in South Korea, Japan and Russia.

3. The presence of tritium in one of the tests led several intelligence agencies watching North Korea’s nuclear program and its longstanding links with Iran and Syria to examine the possibility that Pyongyang had tested the internal mechanism of a nuclear warhead on Iran’s behalf. This strongly indicated to German and Japanese intelligence that Iran had already developed the nuclear warhead’s outer shell and attained its weaponization.

4. Another possibility examined was that North Korea had tested an Iranian “dirty bomb” – i.e. a conventionally detonated device containing nuclear substances. Tritium would boost its range, force and lethality.

This was one of the conclusions of atmospheric scientist Larsk-Erik De Geer of the Swedish Defense Research Agency in Stockholm, who spent a year studying the data collected by various CTBOTO stations tracking the North Korean explosions.
On February 3, De Greer published some of his findings and conclusions in Nature Magazine. His paper will appear in the April/May issue of the Science and Global Security Journal.

5. The Japanese and German sources found confirmation of their suspicions that North Korea had abetted Iran’s nuclear aspirations in three events:

a) Shortly after the April explosion, a large group of Iranian nuclear scientists and technicians arrived in Pyongyang. They apparently came to take part in setting up the second test in May.
b) In late April, Tehran shipped to Pyongyang a large quantity of uranium enriched to 20+ percent – apparently for use in the May test.

c) Straight after the May test, the Central Bank of Iran transferred $55 million to the account of the North Korean Atomic Energy Commission. The size of the sum suggests that it covered the fee to North Korea not just of one but the two tests – the first a pilot and the second, a full-stage test.

It is not by chance that this incriminating disclosure about Iran’s nuclear achievements sees the light Monday, just hours before US Barack Obama receives Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in the White house for an argument over an expeditious military action to stop Iran going all the way to a nuclear weapon.

The disclosure invalidates the main point the US President made in his speech Sunday to the pro-Israeli lobby AIPAC convention in Washington that there was still time for diplomatic pressure and sanctions to bring Iran’s leaders to a decision to halt their nuclear momentum before military action was called for, whether by the US or Israel.

It now appears that Western intelligence has known about the North Korean tests for Iran for eleven months. Therefore, it is too late for him to try and persuade the Israeli prime minister that there is still time to spare for cutting short a nuclear Iran.

It was announced in Washington Monday that no joint American-Israeli communiqué would be issued at the end of their talks, meaning they will have agreed to disagree: Obama, to stand by his opposition to military action against Iran; Netanyahu, to decide what Israel must do in the interests of its security.

There is no doubt he would have preferred an American initiative for - or partnership in - an operation for curtailing the Iranian nuclear threat. But that is not part of Obama’s policy.

Russia has modernized two radars in Syria and Lebanon that could threaten U.S. or Israel’s ability to launch a surprise attack against Syria and Iran, Israeli DEBKAfile portal said on Monday.

The range of the Jabal Al Harrah electronic and surveillance station south of Damascus has been increased to cover all parts of Israel and Jordan, the Gulf of Aqaba and northern Saudi Arabia.

The range of a Russian-equipped Syrian radar stationed on Lebanon’s Mount Sannine has also been extended, and the data-sharing capability of both radars has been improved.

As a result, the radars are now capable of tracking “U.S. and Israeli naval and aerial movements in the Eastern Mediterranean up to and including Cyprus and Greece.”

“Moscow decided to boost its radar tracking and surveillance reach for Iran’s benefit in response to a complaint from Tehran that it could not longer count on Russia for a real-time alert on an incoming U.S. or Israeli military strike, because those resources were stretched to the limit in support of the Assad regime,” DEBKAfile said citing its sources in the U.S. military.

Russia is alarmed by the growing threat of a military strike on Iran, which is increasingly reported as being an option under consideration by Israeli and U.S. military planners as Tehran continues to move ahead with its uranium enrichment program.

Moscow proposes to recognize Iran’s right to develop a civilian nuclear program, including the right to enrich uranium in exchange for placing the country’s nuclear activities under the tight control of the International Atomic Energy Agency

At the same time, Russia has strongly opposed foreign interference in a political crisis in Syria and warned against a “Libyan scenario” in the country.

Earlier in February, Russia and China vetoed a U.S.-backed resolution calling on the Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad to step down.

Moscow believes that attempts to bring democracy through military intervention in the Arab world would compromise the existing system of international security and “backfire with catastrophic consequences to the world.”

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Air Force has equipped its reconnaissance and surveillance planes with online data and information transfer systems, a senior Iranian air force commander announced on Saturday.

"Army's patrol and reconnaissance planes enjoy the ability to send all types of information and data online," Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) for Coordination Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh told FNA.

The commander said that the online data transfer capability will enhance and speed up the power of decision-making and analysis of conditions and will remarkably increase Armed Forces' efficiency in sensitive conditions and at times of threat.

The IRIAF possesses new generations of aircraft, and continues updating their electronic warfare, radars and smart ammunition.

The Iranian Air Force tested its defense capabilities in massive air drills, dubbed as 'Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Vellayat III', in Iran's Northwestern regions.

During the exercises which started on September 6, the Iranian Air Force fighter jets practiced electronic war operations and Iran's two well-known home-made fighter jets, namely Saeqeh (Thunderbolt) and Azarakhsh (Lightening) staged successful missions and bombed the specified targets under full radio silence.

Nasir-zadeh coordinator deputy of IRIAF announced USA destructed all of its F-14's to prevent exporting its parts to Iran, but they didnt know we dont need to them, he stated today all needed parts of F-14 is produced by reverse-engineering and are modified and are installed on F-14's.

he stated capabilities of this aircrafts has been increased, for example we changed dimensions of engines of it and increased thrust of it,

he also added we also upgraded and modified radar and electronic systems of F-14.he mentioned we improved and upgraded electronic warfare systems of F-14 he stated now our F-14's fly everyday.
The Tehran Daily Newspaper 'Jomhorieh Islami' on its first page reported
exactly the same claims by Deputy Commander of IRIAF Nasir-Zadeh in an article titled "Flight of new generations of F-14s with Iranian radar and upgraded engine"!

He claimed that "in reality, we have a new generation of F-14s deployed by IRIAF with upgraded radar". He
emphasized "since the radar of this aircraft is now home-built, we can upgrade this radar at will and with its
upgraded engine, we claim that this IRIAF aircraft is actyally a new generation of its original version".

He continued "With Iranian capabilities in manufacturing of IRIAF engine parts,we have started efforts for full production of engines and have achieved some reasonable results that will be publicized in due time"

Israeli military sources have said that the Iranian Toufan (storm) chopper launched during the Iranian 8-days navy drill was heavily upgraded and much better than the US Cobra.
Iranian made Cobra choppers took off and landed on Iran’s army naval force battleships during this phase of the war game in the Straight of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman, successfully carrying out tactical operations. They attacked and shot down surface and sub-surface mock enemy targets during the second day of naval drill dubbed (Velayat-89) on Thursday.
Iran’s helicopter gunships were also dispatched to the area to act as covers for Cobra choppers during the tactical operation in Iranian territorial waters.
Debkafile’s website quoted Israeli military sources as saying that if Iran has indeed designed a weapon of this type and quality (Toufan), it has come up with a powerful answer to US and Israeli cruise missiles, which pose the “biggest threat” to Iran’s nuclear facilities in a military strike.
The Iranian Air force have received 10 new “Toufan” attack helicopters based on the Bell AH-1K Sea Cobra design. After studying photographs, Western military sources reported the Iranian version has been heavily upgraded compared with the original.
Debkafile’s intelligence sources also note that the Iranian Air Force’s Badr Base for light aircraft and helicopters in Esfahan, central Iran, accommodates 1,000 aerial military vehicles of different types, and is the biggest air base of its kind in the Middle East and Southwest Asia.
Iran has also successfully conducted interception operations by drones on Thursday. Flying surveillance drones could gather information about hypothetical enemy forces.
Iran’s defense minister Brig. Gen. Ahmad Vahidi had also announced on Wednesday the development of the “Mesbah 1″ (Lantern), the new air defense system for countering aircraft, cruise missiles, choppers and other low-altitude threats. He said the new system, which is capable of firing “four thousand rounds per minute,” has unique features that differentiate it from other similar air defense systems.
The new system is equipped with a three-dimensional interception radar and an optical guidance system, he added.
In the meantime and according to Fars news agency, Iranian Navy destroyers accompanied by frigates and submarines carried out reconnaissance missions during Thursday’s maneuvers.
Admiral Qassem Rostam Abadi, the maneuvers’ spokesperson, said the reconnaissance missions were aimed at securing Iran’s shipping routes in the Sea of Oman. The Iranian army is scheduled to carry out electronic and anti-electronic warfare and gather radar information in the region, the military official added.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Kiumars Ahadi — another commander with Iran’s Military — said troops and military hardware will be dispatched to the area during the drill through special operations.
Iranian Navy commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said earlier that by holding the maneuver, Tehran sought to send out a message of “peace and friendship” to regional states.
Late last month, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) staged four days of maneuvers in Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, testing missiles and a new speedboat capable of destroying enemy ships.

‘Iran can produce nuclear weapons, but will not’
Associated Press : Tehran, Sun Apr 08 2012

Iran has the knowledge and scientific capability to produce nuclear weapons but will never do so, a prominent lawmaker has said.

Gholamreza Mesbahi Moghadam is a parliamentarian, not a government official, and his views do not represent the Iranian government’s policy. It, however, is the first time that such a prominent Iranian politician has publicly stated that Iran has the technological capability to produce a nuclear weapon.

His assertion, published on parliament’s website Friday, suggests that Iran is trying to show unity in its political establishment around its often repeated claims that it seeks world-class technological advances including nuclear expertise, but does not want to develop atomic arms.

The statement comes before planned talks beginning next week with the US and other world powers over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

Moghadam said Iran can easily produce the highly enriched uranium that is used to build atomic bombs, but that it is not in Tehran’s policy.

The US and its allies accuse Iran of using its civilian nuclear program as a cover to develop nuclear weapons. Iran denies the charges, saying its program is peaceful and geared toward generating electricity and producing medical radioisotopes to treat cancer patients.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has repeatedly insisted that his country is not seeking nuclear weapons, saying that holding such arms is a sin as well as “useless and dangerous.”

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has also asserted that if Iran, one day, decides to build nuclear weapons, it will do so openly and won’t fear anybody. However, he has also emphasised that Iran has no intention to weaponise what he describes as a peaceful nuclear program.

Director of US National Intelligence James Clapper asserted in a January report to the Senate Intelligence Committee that Iran has the means to build a nuclear weapon but has not yet decided to do so.

US intelligence officials say they generally stand by a 2007 intelligence assessment that asserts Iran stopped comprehensive secret work on developing nuclear arms in 2003. But Britain, France, Germany, Israel and other US allies think such activities have continued, a suspicion shared by the IAEA, which says in recent reports that some isolated and sporadic activities may be ongoing.

However, the IAEA says there is no evidence to prove that Iran’s nuclear materials have been diverted towards weapons.

Iran says it is enriching uranium to about 3.5 per cent to produce nuclear fuel for its future reactors, and also to around 20 per cent to fuel a research reactor that produces medical isotopes. Uranium has to be enriched to more than 90 per cent to be used for a nuclear weapon.

Moghadam, said that Iran has the means to produce 90-plus per cent enrichment.

“There is a possibility for Iran to easily achieve more than 90 per cent enrichment,” the website icana.ir quoted Moghadam as saying.

RUSSIA EXPECTING ATTACK ON IRAN BY SUMMER
Plans to move troops to protect interests, possibly assist Islamic enclave

WASHINGTON – The Russian military anticipates that an attack will occur on Iran by the summer and has developed an action plan to move Russian troops through neighboring Georgia to stage in Armenia, which borders on the Islamic republic, informed Russian sources say in a report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

Russian Security Council head Viktor Ozerov said that Russian General Military Headquarters has prepared an action plan in the event of an attack on Iran.

Dmitry Rogozin, who recently was the Russian ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, or NATO, warned against an attack on Iran.

“Iran is our neighbor,” Rogozin said. “If Iran is involved in any military action, it’s a direct threat to our security.” Rogozin now is the deputy Russian prime minister and is regarded as anti-Western. He oversees Russia’s defense sector.

Russian Defense Ministry sources say that the Russian military doesn’t believe that Israel has sufficient military assets to defeat Iranian defenses and further believes that U.S. military action will be necessary.

Russia’s purpose in moving its troops would be not only to protect its own vital regional interests but possibly to assist Iran in the event of an attack. Sources add that a Russian military buildup in the region could result in the Russian military potentially engaging Israeli forces, U.S. forces or both.

Informed sources say that the Russians have warned of “unpredictable consequences” in the event Iran is attacked, with some Russians saying that the Russian military would intervene because its vital interests in region would be threatened.

The influential Russian Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper has quoted a Russian military source as saying that the situation forming around Syria and Iran “causes Russia to expedite the course of improvement of its military groups in the South Caucasus, the Caspian, Mediterranean and Black Sea regions.”

This latest information comes from a series of reports and leaks from official Russian spokesmen and government news agencies who say that an Israeli attack is all but certain by the summer.

Because of the impact on Russian vital interests in the region, sources say that Russian preparations for such an attack began two years ago when Russian Military Base 102 in Gyumri, Armenia, was modernized. It is said to occupy a major geopolitical position in the region.

Families of Russian servicemen from the Russian base at Gyumri in Armenia close to the borders of Georgia and Turkey already have been evacuated, Russian sources say.

“Military Base 102 is a key point, Russia’s outpost in the South Caucasus,” a Russian military source told the newspaper. “It occupies a very important geopolitical position, but the Kremlin fears lest it should lose this situation.”

http://www.wnd.com/2012/04/russia-expecting-attack-on-iran-by-summer/

TEHRAN (FNA)- Russia is building up forces in the Caucasus region, preparing to protect its interests in case Israel attacks Iran with the help of the United States, the western media said.

GenerationalDynamics.com said the Russian military believes that when the US goes to war with Iran, it may deploy forces in friendly Georgia and warships in the Caspian Sea with the possible help of Azerbaijan.

Hence, Russia is deploying guided anti-ship missiles on the Caspian shore in preparation, and is forming an offensive spearhead force, heavily armed with modern long-range weapons, it added.

In the case of an Iranian war, it's expected that the Russian spearhead will be ordered to strike south to prevent the presumed deployment of US bases in the region, to link up with the troops in Armenia, and take over the South Caucasus energy corridor along which Azeri, Turkmen and, other Caspian natural gas and oil may reach European markets, the website added.

By one swift military strike Russia may ensure control of all the Caucasus and the Caspian states, for the first time since the Soviet Union dissolved, it said.

On February 15, Iran placed the first indigenous fuel rods into the heart of the Tehran Research Reactor.
Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Ghannadi says Iranian researchers have succeeded in producing fuel for the Tehran Research Reactor.

Ghannadi said on Saturday that Iranian researchers have been able to produce fuel for the Tehran Research Reactor “according to schedule.”

Emphasizing that no modern technology has impacted human life as much as the nuclear technology, Ghannadi said Iran has also taken major steps towards producing this form of clean energy for use in such fields as nuclear medicine, curing cancer patients as well as nuclear agricultural industry.

Referring to the production of radiopharmaceuticals in the Islamic Republic, Ghannadi said “Iran is on a par with advanced countries with respect to producing some radiopharmaceuticals and has been able to produce some radiopharmaceuticals that are still in research stages in European countries.”

On February 15, Iran placed the first indigenous fuel rods into the heart of the Tehran Research Reactor. The fuel rods were produced at the Isfahan nuclear facility and transferred to the Tehran Research Reactor under the supervision of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors.

By placing nuclear plates into the Tehran reactor, Iran has taken the final step in completing the nuclear fuel cycle.
