Citat:Turkey has again extended the deadline for bidding companies to send revised offers for its anti-ballistic missile air defense system.
The new deadline for rival bidding companies to submit their proposals is April 30, allowing U.S. company Raytheon Co and Lockheed Martin Corp and Italian-French team Eurosam SAMP/T to revise their offers and try to head off a Chinese company, with which Turkey is still in talks.

Turkey Likely To OK Indigenous Fighter Program

Citat:ANKARA — Turkey’s government, procurement and industry officials widely expect Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to approve an ambitious program to build the country’s first indigenous fighter aircraft, amid doubts that Ankara could afford to buy it alongside theF-35 joint strike fighter.
The “committee” is the Defense Industry Executive Committee, chaired by Erdogan, which oversees top procurement decisions. The committee does not have a scheduled meeting, but sources say the next gathering is likely before local elections March 30.
The committee’s other members are Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz, Chief of General Staff Army Gen. Necdet Ozel and chief procurement official Murad Bayar.

Aselsan ‘suffers’ from Chinese missile accord

Citat:Officials from the Chinese firm CPMIEC came to the Military Electronic Industries of Turkey (ASELSAN) to build up a partnership last week, but Turkish officials are still keeping the door open for Western firms that lost in the missile tender last year to perhaps swoop in and clinch the ultimate agreement.
The 30 experts that came from China held talks at ASELSAN.
Citat:Meanwhile, ASELSAN has also been experiencing trouble in terms of public offerings due to the selection of CPMIEC. Merrill Lynch initially said it did not want to broker a public offering because of the American administration’s stance. Barclays won the tender, followed by Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. Because the first bid was too expensive for ASELSAN, the management submitted an offer to the firm in second place, Merrill Lynch. After the U.S. company refused to deal with ASELSAN over fears of sanctions, the Turkish defense firm spoke to Barclays and Goldman Sachs again. Both firms subsequently expressed concerns similar to Merrill Lynch’s, demanding assurances that “no work will be done in cooperation with the Chinese firm.”

Turkey, Sikorsky Sign $3.5 Billion Helicopter Deal
Citat:Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Friday that his government and US helicopter manufacturer Sikorsky Aircraft had signed a long-dormant contract to co-produce an initial batch of 109 utility helicopters.

“We signed the $3.5 billion agreement today,” Erdogan said in televised remarks during a ceremony for the delivery by Boeing of Turkey’s first airborne early warning and control aircraft. “This [Sikorsky deal] was an important signing ceremony for us.”

Turkey Extends Deadline in Disputed Air Defense Contract

Citat:For a fifth time since September, Turkey’s procurement authorities extended a deadline for all three bidders in a disputed air defense contract to submit their renewed proposals.
Turkey’s procurement agency, the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM), said on Tuesday that the new deadline was set for Dec. 31. The previous deadline was this coming Sunday.

Грчки медији, позивајући се на немачки Ди Велт, тврде да Турска увелико ради на стварању своје атомске бомбе и да је у завршној фази тог пројекта. Све је почело од доласка Ердогана на власт када је започет процес обогаћивања уранијума и за ту намену је из Пакистана набаљено 1000 центрифуги. Наводно то је став обавештајних служби земаља са Запада.
