Qatar fighter request attracts Typhoon display

Likely candidates for a replacement deal include the Dassault Rafale and Eurofighter Typhoon, with other possibilities including the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and Lockheed Martin’s F-16. It is unclear how many aircraft Doha hopes to acquire, or when it would like to place them into service. However, it is known to be looking to enhance its air policing capability before hosting the football World Cup in 2022.

Nije najmanji, Oman je uzeo 12 a ovde se prica o 24. Jos 2011. su trebali njihovi piloti da lete na tajfunu ali su otkazali evaluaciju zbog ucesca iznad Libije. Ponovo je sve pokrenuto proletos.

US Bid Delays Qatar Jet Competition
Citat:Bids to supply the Qatari Air Force with up to 72 jets were meant to be lodged with the Defense Ministry in Doha in September. BAE Systems, offering its Typhoon, and Dassault Aviation, offering the Rafale, complied with the bid schedule. The US, however, with a foreign military sales proposal involving the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet and the F-15 Strike Eagle sought, and were granted, a three-month extension.

The Pentagon is now expected to submit its offer in December after the sales effort had been slowed by what executives, who asked not to be named, said were procedural issues at the US State Department.

Dassault Said to Close in on Rafale Contract to Lift Exports

A contract would probably come in two batches of 36 aircraft, the official said. The topic will be discussed when Qatar ruler Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani visits France next week, as negotiations continue. The Qatari Ministry of Defense and Dassault Aviation had no comment.

Arapske pare za Egipt, onda i arapske pare za sebe. Još da vidimo ko će da plati razvoj jaćega motora kojeg traži UAE i da dobiju još ovaj tender.

Ne znam kako se krecu cene ali 7 milijardi $ za 24 aviona je onako bas lepa cifra. Zar nisu Indiji prodavali preko 100 Rafala za neku cifru 10-12 milijardi $?
