Super Hornet Life Extension Program to Start By 2017

Citat:The Navy will have to begin a service life extension program on its fleet of F/A-18 E and F Super Hornets as early as 2017 because of delays fielding the joint strike fighter, the service's top aviation official said Aug. 12.

"Our first Super Hornets are getting to 6,000 hours probably at the end of next year so that's the place where we'll start opening them up and we'll do what we call a service life assessment program," said Navy Vice Adm. Mike Shoemaker, the commander of naval air forces and the naval air force for the U.S. Pacific Fleet. The assessment will determine what needs to be repaired so fixes can be standardized as best as possible across the fleet, Shoemaker said.

Za manje od 20 godina nagruvace 6000 sati, pa vi vidite rodjaci...
Sve dok njihovi piloti imaju 2-3 puta veci nalet od ostalih bice sila broj I - bez obzira sto Rusi ili Indijci i Kinezi imaju u nekim segmentima bolje masine (mada je i to diskutabilna stvar).
Imati odlicnu masinu je samo pola posla, nista ne menja sate "pod dupetom" (uz dobar program obuke naravno)...

Nije nikakva tajna da u US Navy nisu ni najmanje oduševljeni sa F-35. Tamo bi ogromna većina bila presrećna kad bi se odustalo od tog projekta i elektronika razvijena za F-35 ugradila u neku novu verziju F-18. Na svu sreću neće biti prekida razvoja F-35 pa će Ameri dobiti "čudo" od aviona.
E još kad bi i ove F-18E na nosačima zamenili sa F-35 i ih meraka F-15C gde bi nama koji "volimo" Amere bio kraj.
Zamislite koji raj stotinjak operativnih F-22 i ostalo sve F-35 ih al bi se nagledali oborenih američkih pilota kako na nekoj TV plaču, u usranim gaćama od straha, kao u Vijetnamu i prvom ratu sa Irakom. Nego, na žalost nisu toliko ludi ostaviće oni F-15C i F-15E pa i F-16 i F-18.
Desiće im se ono što su tamo 2000. godine predvideli Rusima. Biće njima i 2030. godine standardni lovački avion F-15C u to vreme u proseku star 45 do 50 godina. Zato da je nama živ i zdrav F-35.
