Citat:McSally is a retired Air Force colonel and has 325 combat hours in the A-10 in Iraq and Afghanistan. She also commanded an A-10 squadron.

"From my experience as an A-10 pilot and squadron commander, I know first hand the unique capabilities of the A-10 in close air support, forward air control-airborne, and combat search and rescue missions," McSally wrote. "The Warthog is anything but a 'single mission aircraft' and there is simply no other asset that can match its lethality, loiter time, and survivability. The decision to retire it is reckless and will put American lives at risk."

Two A-10C's ("Tabor33 &34") , en route to their base in Germany, made a precautionary landing on Schiphol (Netherlands) because One of the A-10's had some pressure problems when approaching the Ducth coast and declared an emergency. One landed on RWY 22 touching down about 40% down the runway, overshooting it by some meters. Number 2 landed a couple of minutes later on runway 24. 81-0956/DM (c/n 651) landed first. Followed by 81-0991/DM (c/n 686).

Army Not Interested in Taking A-10 Warthogs from Air Force

Могу да га фарбају како год желе, али овако би изгледала основна подлога на коју иде боја.
На трагу доктора Хајнкела по конструкцији, и Геринга по употреби... много је листова тајне историје повезано операцијом "Спајалица".
Фантастична машина за уништавање, чија лепота произилази из функције - оклоп, топ, мотори... све то ради у служби смрти која
наставља да "живи" и убија тамо где је топ посеје. По томе највише подсећа на змију, без обзира колико лепа и фасцинантна била,
на крају остаје она лепа народна... далеко јој лепа кућа.
Има прегршт фотки и снимака који у архивама остају да му се дивимо, те му искрено желим пензију, резање и топљење... да је правде,
та част би припала железари Смедерево. И да плате, наравно.

Air Force places 18 A-10 aircraft into 'Backup Status'

Citat:The Air Force, with congressional authorization, will convert 18 primary combat-coded A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft from active units and place them into Backup-Aircraft Inventory (BAI) status with the possibility to convert another 18 at a later date in fiscal year 2015.

The secretary of Defense has authorized the Air Force to place up to a total of 36 A-10 aircraft into BAI status. Although Congress has authorized 36 of the A-10 aircraft to be put into BAI status, the Air Force has elected for the time being to place fewer in BAI status.

Citat:The A-10s placed into BAI will serve as replacement aircraft for ones that become unserviceable. The A-10s slated for BAI status are currently assigned to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona (9); Moody AFB, Georgia (6), and Nellis AFB, Nevada (3).
