Saab to set up Indiana factory for T-X work
Citat:Saab will open a new manufacturing site in Indiana to support its contribution to the T-X advanced jet trainer, which it jointly developed with prime contractor Boeing, and other advanced projects.

The facility will be located in West Lafayette, at the Discovery Park District, which is affiliated with Purdue University. From 2020, when construction will start, Saab says it has earmarked $37 million for the development. Ultimately the new facility will create up to 300 jobs.

Bice nastavak, mornarica trazi zamenu za njihove mornaricke Goshawk ( T-45). Verovatno isti ucesnici, samo sa modifikacijama, ali nije potrebno da polece i slece sa nosaca.

Citat:The next generation trainer is expected to fly 400h a year. The USN wants to conduct field carrier landing practices at a rate of 1,200 per aircraft per year. It wants each aircraft to perform carrier touch-and-go landings 45 times per year.

The aircraft is to have a flight life of at least 14,400h and be able to sustain 43,200 landings.

The service does not plan to conduct arrested landings or catapult launches from aircraft carriers using the jet trainer. That differs from the T-45, which conducts carrier landings and launches.

The aircraft should have an operational ceiling of 41,000ft. It should be capable of speeds greater than 600kt (1,111km/h).

Likely competitors in the USN’s next generation trainer program would be the Boeing-Saab T-7A jet, recent winner of the US Air Force’s T-X trainer competition; Lockheed Martin’s T-50A, based on the FA-50, a light attack and trainer aircraft developed with Korea Aerospace Industries; and Leonardo’s T-100, based on the Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Master, a light attack and trainer aircraft.

Citat:The US Air Force has postponed its plan to rent four to eight T-50A advanced trainer jets manufactured by Korea Aerospace Industries due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak in the US, according to industry sources on Tuesday.

The Air Force is currently reviewing a plan to rent T-50A jets until its new T-7A Red Hawks arrive from Boeing. The Air Force aims to rent the jets from Hillwood Aviation after the US-based contractor purchases the aircraft from KAI.

Ovo možda pre za temu o T-50, ali nema veze.

Zanimljiva razlika u konstrukciji T-7 u odnosu na T-50, kako su hteli dva vertikalna stabilizatora iz jasnih razloga. Mada je za ovu klasu aviona lakše i smislenije raditi jedan veći kao kod T-50. Pored LERX treba uočiti (barem menit tako deluje) generatore vorteksa kod oba krila. Što bi trebalo da ima veze kako vazduh opstrujava pored vertikala. Mogu se naći slike generisanja vortksa kod recimo Horneta i Super Horneta. Što bi trebalo da pomogne kod post stall upravljivosti i moguće većeg AoA.
